"Trump suggests he is God and will punish Americans who oppose him: November 5th will MAGA’s liberation day. It will be Democrats’ Judgment Day"
I don't think that Trump is suggesting that he is God. Rather that he is an instrument of God. A subtle distinction perhaps. Still, it is important to get this sort of thing right. Otherwise, one gives an opening to Trump supporters to complain that they and Trump are being lied about.

I watch MSNBC a lot. While their hearts are in the right place, and they often provide brilliant analysis, I do see a kind of grasping at straws lately. It is like everything Trump does is criticized as showing how inept he is, or venal, or otherwise unqualified to be president. Trump is bad enough at his core that one does not need to continually grasp at straws. Just focusing on the basics should be enough. Of course, part of the problem is that more people are watching Fox News or obtaining their news from other sources, but that is a different problem. Grasping at straws will not help improve viewership numbers.

A vote for Trump, a third party candidate, or no vote at all, is a vote for a dystopian future.

This is just so dumb. I thought that the court would have enough sense to protect its own institutional interests. That is to recognize that Trump's assault on the Constitution, if successful, would leave the court as being irrelevant.

Instead, they have fallen for Trump's rope a dope. All Trump really wants its further delay. All this does is postpone a trial until after the election. Meaning that the American public will not know of the official findings of any trial court until it is too late to do anything about it. In the meantime, Trump will trumpet this as if it is a complete vindication of his argument. That the Court hasn't actually decided the question will be irrelevant to Trump. He always takes a victory on a technicality and acts as if it is victory of basic principle.

Trump's subversion of Democracy is thus being aided and abetted by the Court. The very institution that is supposed to protect our democracy. His rights as an individual are being protected to an absolute extent, while the citizens' right to vote is being thrown under the bus. Ditto national security interests.

The one thing we (in the United States) all have left is to vote to defeat this idiot. This is especially true in the red and purple states. In many of these cases, we must overcome efforts to suppress the vote. Meaning that we need to take on personal responsibility to register to vote and actually vote. We cannot wait for a knock on the door from some community organizer to assist us in that process. We are rapidly going down a trail from which we will not be able to return. We may never be in a position to stop Trump and his allies after this next election. Sure, Trump may soon die of natural causes, but there is likely to be an authoritarian leader waiting in the wings to take over from Trump. One who may not care one whit about our particular interests. If that does happen, you may wonder who is to blame?

If you fail to take action now, you will only need to look into the mirror to find your answer.

McConnell's Exit Haunted by Poisonous Relationship with Trump
by Zachary Basu
February , 2024

Introduction:
(Axios) Trump allies rejoiced at news that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) will step down in November, viewing his departure as the final step to unlocking a total MAGA takeover of the Republican Party.

Why it matters: McConnell, the longest-serving Senate leader in U.S. history, has not spoken to former President Trump since the Jan. 6 Capitol attack. He has declined to endorse Trump in the 2024 race, even as allies of the two GOP titans have worked to mend the relationship behind the scenes.

• McConnell, who has found himself increasingly at odds with pro-Trump members of his conference, appeared to acknowledge Wednesday that his influence was waning in the MAGA-dominated GOP.

• "Believe me, I know the politics within my party at this particular moment in time. I have many faults. Misunderstanding politics is not one of them," the 82-year-old leader said on the Senate floor.

Flashback: Despite his establishment views on foreign policy and traditional Republican priorities, McConnell maintained a strong working relationship with Trump until the very end of the former president's term.

caltrek’s comment: Once again showing that the road to Trump’s rise to power has been paved by idiots like McConnell. In this case, an idiot savant who understood how to manipulate the levers of power in the Senate.

They're likely hearing it because it'd affect the whole nation. Still helping Trump delay everything though
