Well, I don't think that partying should result in lost of career and office.
The reason we had those lockdowns (before the vaccines) was to prevent the spread of a virus killing many thousands of people, at a rate orders of magnitude greater than the flu.
People around the country were prevented from visiting loved ones dying in hospital, while he and his staff partied. He's even had to apologise to the Queen after revelations of a party the night before her husband's funeral. He's an embarrassment, he's dragged his party through the mud, and is now polling at negative 50, about as low as Labour's Jeremy Corbyn during his lowest point.
If the police investigations found that he broke the law, it would be unprecedented for a British PM in modern times. How could his position still be tenable? What would be your threshold, then, at which point he should resign?
If a new and more dangerous variant of the virus comes along, and he needs to order another lockdown, who will obey him?
In any case, this scandal is just one of many he's been a part of – he has almost normalised corruption. For the sake of decency and morality in politics, it's overwhelmingly obvious he should go IMO. But if he doesn't... well, I look forward to an assured Labour victory at the next GE.
