What does second term of Trump mean for the US now?

What caused the US polar shift vote where political shift moved to the far right and MAGA movement is where the US is at now. I see some similar political parties starting up in Canada, UK and Europe in upcoming election there but they not so far right like Trump.

They are mostly centrist party or left centrist with strict border closing and stoping immigration there.

But Trump seem more hard core conservatives and ultra far right so the US voting block has moved to hard core conservatives and ultra far right views now.

I also don't see abortion or LGBT being thing in Canada, UK and Europe like it is in the US now where Trump brought it out of the closet in the open now.

It means a shift towards a multi-polar world where power is centralized in multiple different blocs. It means fewer rights for workers and even greater income inequality in the US. Bernie says we risk oligarchy and it's hard to argue with him given the closeness of billionaires and our president.

Agreed on all except this. We don't risk oligarchy anymore, we are an oligarchy now...

It potentially means a curtailment in scientific research. Globally, this could mean a slow-down in overall scientific research as well as other countries, such as China, catching up to or surpassing the U.S. This could end up being catching up or surpassing both in quantitative terms and quality of research. Consider:

Unprecedented Cuts to the National Science Foundation Endanger Research that Improves Economic Growth, National Security and Your Life
by Paul Bierman
May 15, 2025

Introduction:
(The Conversation) Look closely at your mobile phone or tablet. Touch-screen technology, speech recognition, digital sound recording and the internet were all developed using funding from the U.S. National Science Foundation.

No matter where you live, NSF-supported research has also made your life safer. Engineering studies have reduced earthquake damage and fatalities through better building design. Improved hurricane and tornado forecasts reflect NSF investment in environmental monitoring and computer modeling of weather. NSF-supported resilience studies reduce risks and losses from wildfires.

Using NSF funding, scientists have done research that amazes, entertains and enthralls. They have drilled through mile-thick ice sheets to understand the past, visited the wreck of the Titanic and captured images of deep space.

NSF investments have made America and American science great. At least 268 Nobel laureates received NSF grants during their careers. The foundation has partnered with agencies across the government since it was created, including those dealing with national security and space exploration. The Federal Reserve estimates that government-supported research from the NSF and other agencies has had a return on investment of 150% to 300% since 1950, meaning for every dollar U.S. taxpayers invested, they got back between $1.50 and $3.

However, that funding is now at risk.
