Introduction:

(The Verge) A coalition of NATO-aligned countries has committed to new measures meant to sever Russia from the global financial system, countries announced in a joint letter today. The letter, signed by the United States, UK, Canada, and European allies, lays out new measures to isolate Russia’s central bank, and announces a new trans-Atlantic task force to freeze the foreign assets of sanctioned individuals.

In a dramatic escalation, the order also blocks select Russian banks from using SWIFT — the international payment system employed by banks to send money around the world.

SWIFT, which stands for The Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication, is a cooperative company based in Belgium, whose owners include many of Europe’s largest banks. The organization’s eponymous payments network does not actually exchange money but is used to authenticate payment instructions between banks. Its services are used to process some 42 million exchanges in more than 200 countries each day.

Not surprised by the above news... as I said if Kyiv does not fall this weekend... and it won't bar some sudden huge catastrophic attack on the city... the Russian military is going to start to revolt. A coup in Russia can't be ruled out if this war starts to drag on into 3 weeks... and that could be even more terrifying than this war in Ukraine as an internal Russian civil war would be a threat to the whole planet...

Putin needs to de-escalate this rapidly for his own sake. He could possibly do this by capturing Mariupol and creating a landbridge to Crimea and calling it a day and portraying that as a win, because right now his grip on power will be getting shaky as Kyiv is not going to fall and neither are most of the major cities...

At least you understand (assuming that your post wasn't just a trolling) there are two sides of the coin. Of course, there are mountains of real news from the ground (photos, videos, local chats), mainly from not-yet-censored telegram. Trust me, they're "a bit" deviating from the spoiled product the local woke public so eagerly consuming But spend my time and efforts translating those mountains only for you to read and get a more balanced picture? From the way things are looking, I'm not sure if you'll have any left after the Ukraine siege to be targeting Canada. Having a difficult time seeing Russia make it past Alaska at this point.

From the way things are looking, I highly doubt Russian army depleted even 1/1000 of their ammo.

But this is irrelevant. The bullet that may end his earthly journey will not be Russian. Much more likely it will come from desperate wretch, his former neighbor, fighting him for the last piece of food on the irradiated ruins.

I'm not ready to provide an opinion here yet. But I think it would be prudent of me to provide some factual context to this war for everyone that I think is being missed in the propaganda war taking place between both sides.

Both sides, meaning both the Russian government and the Ukrainian government have actively employed neo-nazis in this war.

On the Russian side both of the breakaway republics that are supported logistically and militarily by Russia are founded by neo-nazis and resultantly undoubtedly have many neo-nazis in their commanding ranks with a more diluted mix of average ethnic Russians simply caught up in the mess as those ranks descend towards footsoldiers.

As for Ukraine, the Ukranian government integrated a neo-nazi partisan militia called the Azov Battalion ~12,000 strong into their national guard. They're known for war crimes by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights such as mass looting, unlawful detention, torture and rape. fun They've been officially supported by the Ukrainian Government since at least 2014.

Nobody wanted this war outside of Russia. Nobody. Only Putin and psychos like you who follow him. Go on then, put your money where your mouth is, and join the Russian army. Do your fascist duty for your dictator. I'm sure there's a nice sunny field waiting for you in Ukraine, maybe a tree or two will grow over top of you.
