No, it shouldn't. It's a tragedy that we're even talking about it. However it's out of our control. You and I, and most sane people tried to live peaceful lives, and get along with each other. But those like Putin live with hate and jealousy. He is holding the world hostage with the largest nuclear arsenal on Earth. If this is to be our end, then I take comfort in knowing that justice will be served.

Paranoya and chaos on the streets of Kiev.

25000 kalashnikovs freely distributed among "patriotic civilians" plus desperate search for "Russian infiltrators" on the streets brought the predictable results: night skirmishes with army, police, and Kievan "volkssturm" killing each other and random unfortunates happened to be in wrong place in wrong time. The first "night of fear" from 25 to 26 february brought 60 killed "infiltrators", and then situation only worsened: everyone seen on the streets from 17-18 to 8 am is officially "possible enemy's infiltrator" and can be shot without any warning.

All Russia has to do is go home to Russia and leave Ukraine alone.

This would have been an ideal time to give what we had in Afghanistan to ukraine instead of the fucking taliban. Biden fucked up. Tens of billions in armor, tanks and planes!

Russia fires on women and children evacuating through humanitarian corridors – Vereshchuk

28.02.2022 05:35

"Russia is firing on humanitarian corridors, in spite of everything, ignoring our requests to allow for the evacuation of women, children, orphans, and people with limited mobility. As a result, there are wounded civilians," Deputy Prime Minister – Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk said, the Ministry’s press service informs.

It is especially horrible as these people once considered Russians their brothers and sisters, said Vereshchuk.

“They are shocked by what is happening, by the way they come under ruthless and unashamed fire from Grad systems. I know what a wound it is for them, what a pain. We will go through all this together, and they understand that. And they really want to live in their country, have shelter, confidence in their safety, understand that they will never be killed by Russians or other enemies," said the minister.

According to the Office of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, the enemy is destroying houses, hospitals, kindergartens, and schools with unprecedented brutality.

In particular, a child was killed and four others (two children and two adults were injured) in the artillery shelling of the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital in Kyiv. A Russian sabotage-reconnaissance group shot a car on Olena Teliha Street in Kyiv, with a family with three children inside. The girl and her parents died, two other children are in critical condition in hospital.

Ukraine captures Russian tank battalion commander
Source: American Military News

Feb 27, 2022
The Ukrainian military claimed on Saturday to have captured the commanders and chief of staff of Russia’s tank battalion, 35th Motor Rifle Brigade, and provided photo evidence.

Russian Major Schetkin Leonid Petrovich, along with his photo identification, military insignia and other personal belongings were photographed in Ukrainian custody and the photos shared by Ukraine’s Operational Command North.

The Ukrainian military said Petrovich was captured after Ukrainian forces attacked a Russian tank unit, in which Petrovich “miraculously survived.”

The capture marks the highest-ranking Russian forces captured by Ukraine so far.

I mean let's be honest here: Ukraine isn't actually going to win this war. I think everyone not succumbing to propaganda is aware that it was indeed a good several days of fierce fighting but it can't last forever.

The real question is "what happens next?"

I'll at least say this: we in the USA? No change to our nuclear readiness. We've not put our own warheads on alert or anything. Indeed, we're not even mobilizing or planning to. Despite what some members on this forum express, our leadership are operating on a "whatever happens, happens (but the Russians will pay for it, if you catch my drift)" mindset.
And remember my friend, future events such as these will affect you in the future
