DPR completes investigation of criminal case against mercenaries from Britain and Morocco, they face the death penalty - Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic. According to the agency, Sean Pinner and Andrew Hill, as well as the Saadoun Blagym, were involved in the fighting...
What can I say? Let them hope and pray for DPR to rejoin Russian Federation as soon as possible. That's their only hope.

115 Russian national guard soldiers sacked for refusing to fight in Ukraine.
Source: The Guardian

More than 100 Russian national guardsmen have been fired for refusing to fight in Ukraine, in what looks to be the clearest indication yet of dissent among some parts of security forces over Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.

The cases of the 115 national guardsmen, a force also known as Rosgvardia, came to light on Wednesday, after a local Russian court rejected their collective lawsuit that challenged their earlier sacking.

The lawsuit was dismissed after the judge determined that the soldiers had been rightfully fired for “refusing to perform an official assignment” to fight in Ukraine and instead returned to a duty station.

The chief editor of Novy Fokus in the Russian region of Khakassia, was arrested by security forces last month over the website’s reporting on a separate Rosgvardia unit that also refused deployment to Ukraine.

'Relentless': Russia squeezes Ukrainian strongholds in east
Source: AP

By RICARDO MAZALAN and ELENA BECATOROS

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Russian forces on Friday pounded the last Ukrainian strongholds in a separatist-controlled eastern province of Ukraine, including a city where authorities said 1,500 people have been killed and 60% of residential buildings destroyed since the start of the war.

Ukraine’s foreign minister warned that without a new injection of foreign weapons, Ukrainian forces would not be able to stop Russia from seizing Sievierodonetsk and nearby Lysychansk, locations that are crucial to Russia’s goal of capturing all of Ukraine’s industrial Donbas region.

The cities are the last areas under Ukrainian control in Luhansk, one of two provinces that make up the region. Russian forces have made slow but persistent advances as they bombarded and sought to encircle both Lysychansk and Sievierodonetsk.

“The Russians are pounding residential neighborhoods relentlessly,” regional governor Serhiy Haidai wrote in a Telegram post Friday. “The residents of Sievierodonetsk have forgotten when was the last time there was silence in the city for at least half an hour.”

Time to check in on some old predictions about the Ukraine War that went viral on Twitter in mid-March. I recommend reading the compendium of all the Tweets here: https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1505 ... 83239.html

But here's the important bit:
The cumulative effects of all these factors leads to horrendous levels of Russian Army Truck fleet operational attrition.

Short form: 6-to-8 weeks more fighting will deadline the entire Russian Army military truck fleet.
16/

Between the end of April and Mid-May 2022, the Ukrainian Army will be able to counter-attack EVERYWHERE.

Because there will be NOWHERE more than 20 miles/30 km inside Ukraine where Russian troops won't be out of food and low on ammunition.

17/End
It's now late May 2022. Since then, Russian forces have retreated from the northern part of Ukraine and focused on taking over the southern and eastern parts of the country. Russia now controls a zone roughly 50 miles deep along that long arc. I don't have information on the state of Russian military logistics or trucks at the front lines, but the fact that they're still advancing shows things have not fallen apart for the Russians. Bullets, food and other supplies are still making it to their fighting men, though they're having serious problems. The "entire Russian Army military truck fleet" has not been lost.

As the person predicted, Ukrainian forces have launched many successful counterattacks against the Russians, thought its unclear whether they will prevail in the east, where the fighting is now focused.

Russian forces have more artillery than the Ukrainians, and are using it effectively in the battle for eastern Ukraine. In spite of significant losses, the Russians are slowly gaining ground.

Russia scraps age limit for new troops in Ukraine push
Source: BBC
President Vladimir Putin has signed a law enabling people over 40 to enlist for the armed forces. They are expected to be people of normal working age.

Previously the army had age limits of 18-40 years for Russians and 18-30 for foreigners.

Russia is presenting it as a move to recruit more technical specialists.

The new law says specialists are required to operate high-precision weapons and "experience shows that they become such by the age of 40-45". More medics, engineers and communications experts may also be recruited.

Oh, I did that for this very thread (I mean I created the txt file with pearls of wisdom). Not that any valuable military analytics have been collected here, just the "knowledge" and mindset shaped by enemy propaganda (but still interesting).

=== === ===

Among other things, there are reports of our troops on the outskirts of Slavyansk. Unconfirmed, I must add (too early, too goo good to be true). But still I'll post this, if only because of soundtrack:

LOL this is brilliant...

There are two problems in Ukraine: conscription and gasoline shortage. Solution? Very simple: draft (hand over summonses) everyone who is in line! Cars drive away in a panic... :D

If he does, I hope it's as painful and debilitating as possible.
