Darriynn Brown, 18, came back at daybreak for Cash Gernon's twin brother two hours after the four-year-old was taken from the same bed and murdered: Suspect got spooked and fled
The man suspected of abducting four-year-old Cash Gernon before stabbing him to death and dumping his body on a street in Dallas allegedly returned hours later at daybreak to snatch his twin brother Carter.

The chilling moment Darriynn Brown hovers menacingly over the crib of Carter Gernon, as Cash lay stabbed to death on a street a half-mile away, is captured on home surveillance footage exclusively obtained by DailyMail.com.

Brown, 18, reaches down and touches the boy as he stirs in his toddler bed, before wandering around the room, seemingly disturbed by a sound, and fleeing the room, leaving the boy sleeping peacefully.

Suspect who stomped Asian man shown in new surveillance video

New images have been released of the brute suspected of stomping a 61-year-old Chinese man into a coma, the latest in a series of anti-Asian attacks.

The NYPD circulated surveillance footage late Sunday showing the suspect wearing a baseball cap and black jacket and talking to a person at a deli about an hour after the beatdown. He was also seen walking on the street.

Yao Pan Ma was attacked from behind around 8:20 p.m. Friday as he collected cans at 3rd Avenue and 125th Street, authorities said.

Biden condemns attacks on U.S. Jewish community as 'despicable'
Source: Reuters
WASHINGTON (Reuters) -U.S. President Joe Biden condemned violence against Jewish communities in the United States and abroad on Monday after a string of attacks amid the conflict between Israel and Gaza's Hamas rulers.

Physical or verbal assaults were reported against Jews in New York City, Los Angeles and South Florida during the 11 days of fighting in the region.

"The recent attacks on the Jewish community are despicable, and they must stop. I condemn this hateful behavior at home and abroad — it’s up to all of us to give hate no safe harbor," Biden wrote in a Twitter post.

Gilad Erdan, Israel's ambassador to the United States, tweeted his thanks in response and said he hoped the assailants were swiftly brought to justice and hate crimes deterred.

New York City Is Back: At Least 30 People Shot Over The Weekend
05/24/2021
https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/new-y ... er-weekend
New York City is officially back: almost 30 people were shot in New York City this past weekend - and that number was only up until about 2PM on Sunday.

29 victims in total had been struck by gunfire by early evening Sunday, according to the New York Post, with one reported fatality.

“These kids are having running gun battles and innocents are getting shot,” one veteran NYPD officer told the Post. “Nobody is interested in hearing how many shots are fired but if people knew how many shootings occurred where there are no victims — it’s by the grace of God."

Among those struck by gunfire over the weekend were a Manhattan federal prosecutor, Mollie Bracewell, who was dining outside in Brooklyn’s Prospect Heights, and Benjamin Bustamante, an innocent bystander walking nearby.

Accused Philadelphia serial rapist possibly linked to similar attacks in 8 states
By Nelson Oliveira
New York Daily News |
May 26, 2021 at 10:24 AM
A convicted felon accused of stalking and raping multiple women in Philadelphia is under investigation for similar attacks in eight other states, according to prosecutors.

In a terrifying crime spree this month, 28-year-old Kevin Bennett went to several gentlemen’s clubs in the city and then followed female employees to their homes, authorities said. He stalked at least six victims and raped three of them, according to the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office.

“Over the course of approximately four days, Kevin Bennett terrorized and assaulted numerous women in Philadelphia,” Branwen McNabb, an assistant district attorney in charge of the office’s sexual assault unit, said at a news conference Monday.

Killer of 8 in California had talked of workplace attacks
Source: AP

By JOCELYN GECKER and MARTHA MENDOZA
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — An employee who gunned down eight people at a California rail yard and then killed himself as law enforcement rushed in had talked about killing people at work more than a decade ago, his ex-wife said.

“I never believed him, and it never happened. Until now,” a tearful Cecilia Nelms told The Associated Press on Wednesday following the 6:30 a.m. attack at a light rail facility for the Valley Transportation Authority.

“When our deputies went through the door, initially he was still firing rounds. When our deputy saw him, he took his life,” Santa Clara County Sheriff Laurie Smith told reporters.

The sheriff’s office is next door to the rail yard, which serves the county of more than 1 million people in the heart of the Silicon Valley.

American Airlines extends suspension of alcohol services following Southwest flight attendant assaul
Source: CNN

By Jazmin Goodwin,
New York (CNN Business)American Airlines has joined Southwest Airlines (LUV) in suspending alcohol services on flights, the airline said Saturday. The decision follows a recent assault of a Southwest flight attendant that resulted in a serious injury.

"Flight attendants are on the front lines every day not only ensuring our customers' safety, but are also calming fears, answering questions, and enforcing policies like federally-required face masks," said Brady Byrnes, managing director of flight service at American, in a memo to flight attendants obtained by CNN.

"Over the past week we've seen some of these stressors create deeply disturbing situations on board aircraft," the memo said. "Let me be clear: American Airlines will not tolerate assault or mistreatment of our crews."

Like other airlines, American (AAL) first suspended alcohol sales in March 2020 to minimize interaction between crew and passengers and to ensure safer flights.

In Mexico, cartels are hunting down police at their homes
By MARK STEVENSON2 hours ago

MEXICO CITY (AP) — The notoriously violent Jalisco cartel has responded to Mexico’s “hugs, not bullets” policy with a policy of its own: The cartel kidnapped several members of an elite police force in the state of Guanajuato, tortured them to obtain names and addresses of fellow officers and is now hunting down and killing police at their homes, on their days off, in front of their families.

It is a type of direct attack on officers seldom seen outside of the most gang-plagued nations of Central America and poses the most direct challenge yet to President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s policy of avoiding violence and rejecting any war on the cartels.

Coleman Thomas Blevins, 28, of Kerrville, Texas, was arrested on Friday, authorities said.

(CNN)Law enforcement officials have arrested a Texas man who they say was planning a "mass casualty event," possibly at a Walmart.

Coleman Thomas Blevins, 28, of Kerrville, was arrested Friday "on a warrant for a Terroristic Threat to Create Public Fear of Serious Bodily Injury," according to a news release from the Kerr County Sheriff's Office (KCSO).

Multiple agencies worked together for a week to intercept and foil the plan for an attack on the public, the release said, including the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division, the FBI, the Kerrville Police Department and the US Secret Service.

An unhinged man randomly slugged an Asian woman in the face, knocking her to the ground, in a brazen attack outside a Chinatown restaurant on Monday, police said.

Surveillance video posted on Twitter by Assemblywoman Yuh-Line Niou, whose district covers Chinatown, captured the horrifying daytime assault on Bayard Street, near Mott Street.

The 55-year-old victim can be seen walking by the Kong Sihk Tong café around 6:15 p.m. — when a man in an orange hoodie and denim jacket whacks her unprovoked.

A 12-year-old boy and 14-year-old girl broke into a home, found weapons and opened fire on deputies
Source: CNN

Deputies in Volusia County, Florida, shot a 14-year-old girl on Tuesday night after she and a 12-year-old boy fled a group home, broke into a house, found multiple guns inside and then opened fire on deputies, according to Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood.

The girl was shot in the abdomen and the arm and is in stable condition, while the boy surrendered and was not injured, the sheriff's office said.

(snip)

The startling spree of gunfire came as Sheriff Chitwood insisted deputies repeatedly tried to deescalate the situation, make personal contact with the juveniles, and were forced to hide behind trees amid waves of shooting.

"We try to deescalate, we throw a cell phone into the house to try to talk to them. The 14-year-old comes out of the garage with a pump shotgun, levels it at deputies, and despite warnings to drop it, she walks back into the garage. She comes back a second time, and that's when deputies open fire," Chitwood said.

Terrible decision, given the rising trend of mass shootings.

A federal judge, who compares an AR-15 to a Swiss Army knife, overturns California's ban on assault weapons

Updated 1106 GMT (1906 HKT) June 5, 2021

In a ruling that compared the AR-15 to a Swiss Army knife, a federal judge overturned California's longtime ban on assault weapons on Friday, ruling it violates the Second Amendment's right to bear arms.

Assault weapons have been banned in California since 1989, according to the ruling. The law has been updated several times since it was originally passed.

According to the ruling by U.S. District Judge Roger Benitez of San Diego, the assault weapons ban deprives Californians from owning assault-style weapons commonly allowed in other states. Benitez issued a permanent injunction Friday so the law cannot be enforced.

"Like the Swiss Army Knife, the popular AR-15 rifle is a perfect combination of home defense weapon and homeland defense equipment," Benitez said in the ruling. "Firearms deemed as 'assault weapons' are fairly ordinary, popular, modern rifles."
