Leaked letter reveals allegations that Southern Baptist leaders mishandled sex abuse claims
Source: Axios
A letter obtained by the Washington Post outlines new allegations that Southern Baptist Convention leaders mishandled sexual abuse claims.

The state of play: The letter, written by Russell Moore, former head of the SBC Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, claims that institutional leaders bullied a sexual abuse victim.

Moore specifically names people in the SBC's Executive Committee who he says intimidated any person who spoke out about abuses in the church.

He also details how some institutional leaders exonerated churches with credible allegations of negligence of sexual abuse victims, which he says put the lives of "vulnerable children and others" affiliated with the church at risk.

By Snejana Farberov For Dailymail.com
A father-of-three out jogging on Saturday morning in Atlanta's wealthiest neighborhood, Buckhead, was shot twice by a 'mentally ill' man who police say also opened fire on two other people and mowed down a neighbor with his car.

Atlanta police arrested and charged 22-year-old Gaelen Newsom with attempted murder, three counts of aggravated assault and two counts of possession of a firearm during a crime in connection with the weekend crime spree.

The first shooting took place in the 1200 block of West Wesley Road in Buckhead, Atlanta's richest section, which has been making a push to form its own police force and secede from the rest of the city amid skyrocketing crime rates.

By Alakananda Bandyopadhyay
OCALA, FLORIDA: A Florida woman was arrested for "acting out of control" at an Outback Steak House, and a Mojo Grill near Silver Springs, after she was found naked at the eateries, erratically throwing out alcohol bottles. Identified as 53-year-old Tina Kindred, the woman has since been charged with aggravated battery on law enforcement and felony criminal mischief after she flung wine bottles at a responding officer at the second eatery.

The incident went down after the Ocala Police Department got a call from Mojo Grill on Silver Springs Blvd, Florida, reporting a naked woman “acting out of control", topless and banging tables and windows at the eatery. The woman had flipped over some tables and was attempting to get into a customer's car shortly before she escaped and recklessly drove around in the parking lot, claims the sheriff's report.

More than two dozen Antifa rioters charged for Portland mayhem

June 6, 2021

https://nypost.com/2021/06/06/more-than ... nd-mayhem/
More than two dozen suspected Antifa rioters have been charged in Portland in the past two weeks, signaling an escalation by both local and federal prosecutors

On Thursday, the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office announced charges against 10 suspects following several grand jury indictments.
Maximilian Ryan Jennings, 23, James Walker Prettyman, 25, and Thomas Moll-Rocek, 34, are charged with one count each of felony riot, felony first-degree criminal mischief and second-degree criminal mischief. The three were indicted over accusations they were part of a black-clad mob that broke most of the windows on the Multnomah County Democrats’ headquarters on Nov. 8, 2020... Holding a banner featuring a Kalashnikov rifle that read, “We don’t want Biden — We want revenge,” the group of Antifa marched to the Democratic Party of Oregon building where they started a fire on the street and smashed the building’s windows. Arrestees were found carrying knives, batons and crowbars. Nicole Aria Rose, 26, Darrell Anthony Kimberlin, 31, Jean V. Paris, 19, and Kyle Martin Romstad, 22, are charged with one count each of felony riot, felony first-degree criminal mischief and second-degree criminal mischief. Kai-Ave James Douvia, 23, a serial riot-arrestee, faces the same charges in addition to a second count of second-degree criminal mischief for allegedly smashing out windows of a coffee shop ...

“... it’s during these protests when we’ve gotten some of the changes that we are proudest of in our nation’s history. And sometimes it took some property damage"

- Portland attorney Mike Schmidt

Austin Nathaniel Nuchraska, 25, was indicted over the most serious charges. In addition to felony riot and criminal mischief charges, he is charged with four counts of unlawful possession of a destructive device at the Jan. 20 riot. The district attorney’s office also announced charges against Sean Gabriel Lopez, a 26-year-old rapper known as “Noshu” who regularly attends protests and riots in Portland... The charges stem from an Antifa riot on April 23 where Lopez is accused of using a rock to break the window of an apartment complex... Additionally, Lopez is accused of throwing a rock through a window of a coffee shop. Lopez’s bail was set at over $70,000, which was paid for by the Portland chapter of the National Lawyers Guild’s “Mass Defense Fund” program, according to a GoFundMe for him. The charges are a 180-degree turn for left-wing District Attorney Mike Schmidt, who last year dropped over 90 percent of riot and protest-related cases.

The Walking Dead- Looking at their faces and you can see why they may have a grudge against society

In an interview with Willamette Week shortly before he entered office at the height of rioting in August 2020, Schmidt said... Serial riot-arrestee Darren Ray Stephens, 36, was arrested on May 28 and charged with reckless burning and third-degree criminal mischief related to his alleged involvement in a violent unlawful assembly two days prior. However, the district attorney’s office declined to pursue these charges. Stephens is currently facing felony riot, theft and burglary charges related to a different riot incident last year. Jarrod “Sofie” DeFerrari, 24, was arrested on May 29 for allegedly being armed with a loaded pistol and shotgun on a bus. She was found allegedly carrying additional ammo, restricted knives and brass knuckles. DeFerrari, from Sunrise, Fla., also has pending charges over her alleged involvement in smashing the windows of St. Andre Bessette Catholic Church and other properties at a post-election day antifa riot on Nov. 4. . Tracy Lynn Molina, 48, was arrested on May 31 at an Antifa protest outside the local Immigration, Customs and Enforcement facility based on a hold request by U.S. Marshalls. She’s accused of assaulting a federal employee, disorderly conduct and failing to comply with a lawful order... The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon announced that Malik Fard Muhammad, 24, Rowan L. McManigal, 19, and Richard Timothy Hernandez, 56, were indicted for crimes allegedly committed at riots.

Muhammad faces the most serious charges. He was previously extradited to Oregon after he was indicted on two counts of attempted aggravated murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder, four counts of felony riot, two counts of unlawful manufacturing of an explosive device, unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a loaded firearm in public... He allegedly threw Molotov cocktails at law enforcement, causing one officer’s leg to catch fire, and giving out baseball bats... Muhammad was bailed out on May 26 by the Antifa-linked Portland Freedom Fund, who paid $212,500, or 10 percent of his state-ordered $2.1 million bail. Hernandez is charged with three counts of destruction of government property. Court documents say he threw a total of 74 rocks at the Mark O. Hatfield U.S. Courthouse and ICE facility on three separate riots. Damages from the broken windows totaled more than $160,000. Read more ...

Usman Khan: London Bridge terrorist lawfully killed by police, inquest jury finds
10 June 2021

London Bridge terrorist Usman Khan was lawfully killed by armed police who "believe he was trying to find a trigger" on a suicide vest when they shot him dead, an inquest jury has found.

Officers fired at Khan 20 times after he stabbed and killed prison rehabilitation workers Jack Merritt, 25, and Saskia Jones, 23, at an event at Fishmongers' Hall in November 2019.

At an inquest into his death, coroner Mark Lucraft QC directed jurors to return a conclusion of lawful killing, on the grounds that each of the officers who shot at Khan believed it was necessary to protect themselves and the public.

Eight bullets missed their target. None of the critical head shots, designed to kill him instantly, hit him.

When officers on one side of London Bridge heard shots being fired from a different direction they didn't know at first whether they had heard colleagues' guns or were being fired on themselves by potential accomplices of Khan.
