Wendy's Employee Charged With Murder After Punching Customer

PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ (KNXV) — A Wendy’s employee is facing second-degree murder charges after allegedly punching a customer in Arizona.

On July 26, police were called to a Wendy’s restaurant located in Prescott Valley, Arizona for an injured person.

A customer had complained about his food order, which led employee Antoine Kendrick to come out from behind the counter and hit the 67-year-old customer in the head, according to the Prescott Valley Police Department.

The customer then fell to the floor, hit his head, and lost consciousness. He was later flown to a Phoenix-area hospital where he died on August 5.

Two dead, four injured in shooting at Henderson, Kentucky homeless shelter

HENDERSON, Ky. − Two people are dead and four others were wounded in a mass shooting at a Henderson homeless shelter for men Thursday night. ... The shooting occurred around 7:40 p.m. at the Harbor House Christian Center at 804 Clay St. About 15 people were inside at the time, Henderson City Commissioner Robert Pruitt said.

In a Facebook post, Henderson police identified the suspect as Kenneth R. Gibbs of Henderson. Shortly before 10 p.m., Henderson police said on social media that Gibbs had been found and taken into custody. Henderson Police Department Chief Sean McKinney said Gibbs was located at Hays Boat Ramp in the 2000 block of North Elm Street.

McKinney said Gibbs was armed when he was arrested at 9:45 p.m.. Gibbs was identified as the shooter by witnesses at the shelter, McKinney said. ... Pruitt confirmed the first fatality to the Courier & Press, and city spokeswoman Donna Stinnett confirmed the second.

Stinnett said Gibbs was reportedly a resident at the center. Henderson police said the scene has been secured. No names of victims have been released.

Shooting erupts at East Bend Safeway: Three people killed, including suspect, police confirm

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) – Someone wielding an assault-style rifle opened fire in the parking lot of a northeast Bend shopping center Sunday evening and soon entered a Safeway store, firing numerous more shots. Three people were killed at the store, including the suspect, police confirmed.

Officers and medics rushed to the Forum Shopping Center just after 7 p.m. after numerous reports of gunshots and one or more victims and/or suspects.

Just before 8:30 p.m., St. Charles spokeswoman Lisa Goodman confirmed that they had received two people, one who was dead on arrival and another reported to be in good condition. A short time later, she said the hospital had been placed in a lockout.

Minutes later, Bend Police Communications Manager Sheila Miller told reporters three people had been shot and killed, including the alleged gunman.

Indianapolis: Dutch commando dies after shooting outside US hotel

A Dutch commando has died of his injuries after being shot outside an Indianapolis hotel while off-duty.

The city's law enforcement agencies are still investigating the shooting and have so far not reported any arrests. An earlier police statement said detectives did not believe it was a "random act".

According to local media, the incident took place around 03:30 (07:30 GMT) on Saturday outside the Hampton Inn Hotel in the city's entertainment district, where the three soldiers had been staying.

Officials believe the shooting followed a previous altercation including one or multiple other people at another location in the city.

Saskatchewan RCMP say 10 dead, 15 hospitalized after stabbings, suspects still at large

Melfort RCMP have issued a provincewide dangerous persons alert after multiple people were stabbed in the James Smith Cree Nation and Weldon, Sask.

RCMP said in a press conference at 3:40 CT that they found 10 people deceased in 13 locations, and at least 15 people have been hospitalized.

"There could be more injured," Rhonda Blackmore, commanding officer of the Saskatchewan RCMP, said.

"We are currently actively looking for it, dedicating maximum resources to this."

Police fatally shoot Walled Lake man who allegedly killed wife, shot daughter

Walled Lake — A Walled Lake man whose daughter said had been struggling with mental issues after embracing conspiracy theories was fatally shot by police Sunday after he allegedly shot and killed his wife and injured another daughter.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, police received a “chilling” 911 call at 4:11 a.m. Sunday from a 25-year-old woman who said her father had shot her and killed her mother, Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said. She was so distraught she could not give an address other than Glenwood Court, authorities said.

Walled Lake police and sheriff’s deputies were talking to a neighbor when they heard a gunshot from the house next door, in the 1200 block of Glenwood Court.

Police: Oakland high school shooting wounds 6 adults

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — At least six adults were wounded in a shooting at a school campus in Oakland on Wednesday, with at least some of the victims found inside the school, authorities said.

The shooting took place around 12:45 p.m. at Rudsdale Newcomer High School, authorities said. The school serves recent immigrants ages 16-21 who fled violence and instability in their home countries, according to the school’s website. It is one of four adjacent schools located on a block in east Oakland.

Officials have not said whether any of the victims might be students age 18 or older.

“The victims were affiliated with the school and we are determining the affiliation at this time,” Oakland Assistant Police Chief Darren Allison said, although he declined to say whether any students or teachers were involved.

127 soccer fans, police, killed at Indonesia's soccer match

MALANG, Indonesia (AP) — Clashes between supporters of two Indonesian soccer teams in East Java province killed 125 fans and 2 police officers, mostly trampled to death, police said Sunday.

Several brawls between supporters of the two rival soccer teams were reported inside the stadium after the Indonesian Premier League game ended with Persebaya Surabaya beating Arema Malang 3-2.

The fights prompted riot police to fire tear gas, which caused panic among supporters, said East Java Police Chief Nico Afinta.

Hundreds of people ran to an exit gate in an effort to avoid the tear gas. Some suffocated in the chaos and others were trampled, killing 34 almost instantly.
