When will androids be physically indistinguishable from real humans?
Re: When will androids be physically indistinguishable from real humans?
We have a good spread of votes now. Looks like the median is somewhere around 2060–2070, which is what I'm predicting, and is also the range produced by Metaculus. Will add this to our timeline in the coming days/weeks.

I say definitely mention hyperrealism in sculpture and mannequin art as a predecessor in that timeline post. It really is true that, in raw visuals and in static, we've already achieved lifelike artificial humans, to the point of passing the uncanny valley. The illusion is only ruined when hypperealistic humanoids are set in motion or have to utilize any intelligence.
And remember my friend, future events such as these will affect you in the future
Re: When will androids be physically indistinguishable from real humans?
I don't like how current real humans look. I don't want androids to look exactly like current real life humans. For one, real humans look ugly to me and for two, it could be a security risk and would be creepy too.
It would be better to just upgrade current humans than to create androids who look just like current humans.
So I'm not choosing any option, because I don't know which to choose.

Global economy doubles in product every 15-20 years. Computer performance at a constant price doubles nowadays every 4 years on average. Livestock-as-food will globally stop being a thing by ~2050 (precision fermentation and more). Human stupidity, pride and depravity are the biggest problems of our world.
