Weatheriscool, I'm not gonna lie, China is almost literally the country you want America to be. The driverless cars as public utility, the fucking FLYING TAXIS
The only downside is the one-party authoritarian government. And even then, they're making one-party authoritarianism look appealing, considering how defective and sludgy our own political process is. I know the Europeans' system isn't perfect either but goddamn do I wish we had ranked choice and a proper parliament instead of this winner-take-all FPTP system.

My Dad recorded three videos of me – in 1986, 1989 and 1990.
The 1986 one is on 16mm film, and I keep urging my Dad to get it digitised before the tape degrades.
