Someone asked why they didn't just build specialized robot arms that were suited for the task. Such robot arms are already used in many places, and it is worth noting that the goal isn't necessarily to specialize in a task, but rather build a robot that can adapt to any task. In other words, AGI.
It's so natural that it looks like CGI, like something from a science fiction movie or video game
But it's real. Indeed, it's so uncannily real that you even see many people arguing it is CGI or even AI-generated, because our only frame of reference for such gracile humanoid robots is science fiction. We've accepted that real life robots are jerky, walk with that "shat nappy" stance, and can't possibly be so graceful, so our eyes and mind suffer a disconnect.
It kind of reminds me of when SpaceX first landed a rocket upright back in 2016. For so long, that's been a staple of cheesy 1950s-era science fiction and cartoons, and surely everyone knows that real rockets either crash down or break apart, or are space shuttles that land like planes. So seeing a vertical landing space rocket seemed way too "fake" to people at first.
And remember my friend, future events such as these will affect you in the future
