In five years, this reaction will change into that of almost certainty, "I'm certain it's deepfake" due to the law of probabilities. It will be easy to output realistic images/videos in the hundreds or thousands in a matter of seconds. By then, we'll be using a specialized AI to single out which images are genuine.
To know is essentially the same as not knowing. The only thing that occurs is the rearrangement of atoms in your brain.
