Closer to the guns of The Animatrix?

Post by funkervogt »

I just noticed that today's anti-drone rifles (which are now being used in Ukraine) resemble the rifles and howitzers in The Second Renaissance. Coincidence, or a creepy reminder of what lies ahead?

Probably old tech by now if not at least by 20 years. It still looks cool though cumbersome and yeah probably some other sci fi stuff out there. It seems like anything the excitement is the build up of hearing about this sort of stuff using the simplest of physics (simple being a very loose term) then actually seeing it in action. I think I remember probably a decade ago someone talking about the FBI having these sorts of things and something similar to shut down electronics if needed on the net.
