I love these old predictions that say "by 2100 we'll have 200 GW of solar capacity worldwide" and then in 2026 China installed that much in a single year and is exporting enough so that other countries like India and Pakistan can aim to reach that same amount per year by 2030
Like I bet if you went back to 2012, and said "When do you think we'll have 5TW of installed solar and wind globally?" they'd say "by the year 2500 at our current totally accurate estimates" and in actuality we reached that this year
