Watch: Drones crash into water after Sydney light show malfunction

Almost 90 drones fell into the water of Sydney's Darling Harbour during a light festival on Monday.

The malfunction was due to "unforeseen technical difficulties", according to organisers Vivid Sydney, an annual three-week festival that features large light installations.

Two upcoming aerial displays have now been cancelled.

A Vivid Sydney spokesperson apologised for the "disappointment and inconvenience caused to attendees" and said the drone operators cancelled the show "in line with standard safety protocols".

Cars covered in manure after parking on Lake District farmer's field

Drivers who parked their cars on a farmer's land in the Lake District returned to find their vehicles had been covered in suspected manure.
Cumbria Police says that reports were made on Tuesday about cars that had been been sprayed with what appeared to be cow slurry at a site near Rydal.

Photos posted to social media by holidaymakers and locals showed dozens of cars covered in muck, with many driving to the local car wash.

A worker at the garage in which the car wash is situated refused to comment but did confirm the car wash was busy on Tuesday.

Remnants of the slurry could also be seen on surrounding sign posts - including one directing pedestrians and cyclists towards Ambleside.

The land where the cars were parked sports 'no parking' signs at its entrance, including one which reads: "Polite Notice - DO NOT PARK IN THE FIELD".
