Invasion of the Body Snatchers is another great one. Probably my favourite film of that year (1978).
He starred alongside Leonard Nimoy of Star Trek:

Former Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) has died at the age of 89, his family announced Tuesday.
Inhofe died shortly before 5 a.m. Tuesday, surrounded by his wife, Kay, and three surviving children, Molly, Jimmy and Katy, the family said.
Inhofe’s family said he contracted a sudden illness but did not provide details. The Associated Press reported he had a stroke over the July Fourth holiday.
His death comes nearly two years after the former senator retired from the upper chamber in 2023, having served for more than 20 years in Congress. He was Oklahoma’s longest-serving U.S. senator.
Prior to his time in the Senate, Inhofe served in the House for seven years. Before his time on Capitol Hill, Inhofe was the mayor of Tulsa, Oklahoma for six years and served stints in the state Legislature.

Remembering Shannen Doherty, the Beverly Hills 'badass'
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4n1gdn4jkno1 hour ago
Fans are mourning US actress Shannen Doherty, who has died the age of 53 of cancer.
“It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty,” her publicist, Leslie Sloane said.
Doherty enjoyed a screen career spanning four decades as the star of hit TV shows like Beverly Hills 90210 and Charmed.
Although Doherty and the characters she played usually seemed to inhabit a glossier, more beautiful world, she was always someone viewers could relate to on screen, and was a self-proclaimed "badass" in real life.
The Memphis-born star began acting as a child with appearances in TV series such as Voyagers, Our House and Father Murphy, before joining the cast of the long-running Little House on the Prairie as Jenny Wilder at the age of 11 in 1982.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon star Cheng Pei-pei dies at 78
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cn38jrnp9jeo2 hours ago
China-born actress Cheng Pei-pei, who starred in Oscar-winning film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, has died in San Francisco at the age of 78.
A pioneer of martial arts roles for female actors, Cheng became a major performer in action films after she starred in Come Drink with Me by King Hu in 1966. The film achieved critical acclaim and won Cheng international attention.
After moving to the US she inspired a new generation of directors from East Asia to Hollywood to make female-driven swordplay films.
Cheng's family said she had been privately battling a neurodegenerative brain disease with symptoms similar to Parkinson's since 2019 and passed away on Wednesday.
“Our mom wanted to be remembered by how she was: the legendary Queen of Martial Arts... a versatile, award-winning actress whose film and television career spanned over six decades, not only in Asia but internationally as well,” her family wrote on Facebook.

Vietnamese leader Nguyen Phu Trong dies at 80
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c51y3r09zr2o7 hours ago
Vietnam’s long-serving leader Nguyen Phu Trong has died "after a period of illness", marking the end of a political era.
The announcement came days after the government said he was stepping back to focus on his health and had handed duties to President To Lam.
As the general secretary of Vietnam’s ruling Communist Party since 2011, and at one point also double-hatting as president, Mr Trong was seen as one of the country’s most powerful leaders in decades.
Besides overseeing the supercharged growth of Vietnam’s economy, the 80-year-old was known for his “blazing furnaces” anti-corruption campaign.
Mr Trong’s death comes at a time of political turbulence for Vietnam’s Communist leadership. In recent months three top leaders quit following unspecified accusations of wrongdoing.

Alex Salmond, former first minister of Scotland, dies aged 69
High-profile politician reported to have collapsed after delivering speech in North Macedonia on Saturday
Sat 12 Oct 2024 17.43 BST
Alex Salmond, the former first minister of Scotland and one of the most influential figures in the campaign for Scottish independence, has died at the age of 69.
Salmond served as first minister of Scotland from 2007. He stood down from the role after failing to secure independence in the 2014 referendum, handing over to his deputy, Nicola Sturgeon.
Reports suggested that he collapsed after delivering a speech in North Macedonia on Saturday.
Salmond began his second stint as SNP leader in 2004, securing power in Holyrood in 2007. That was followed by a sweeping victory in Scottish parliamentary elections in 2011 – the precursor to the independence vote.
Salmond eventually resigned from the SNP in 2018 in the wake of sexual harassment allegations, forming and leading the rival Alba party. He was cleared of all criminal charges in 2020, following a trial.
