The commenter pointed out that many Americans have a negative view of AI and that there needs to be a conversation about how to use the technology more responsibly. “These posh influencers’ events are, again, giving people ammunition to have negative opinions,” she told TechCrunch. “The world is on fire. It’s not a great time to brag about your $5,000-a-night suite.”

And it's just... like... beguiling? It's like watching a creature that utterly lacks any sense of self preservation, and you're increasingly left in a daze how it managed to survive long enough for you to even be able to see it.
It's why I just don't engage with AI discussion whatsoever unless I absolutely have to, and usually come down against generative AI but for AI in general (which to be fair is my actual opinion, at least until generative AI proves itself more). It's a clusterfuck, it's all hysterical, and the pro side has never done itself favors. The pro side has to rely on actual deeds and examples, and we've literally only just started seeing such in the past few DAYS. Better to just avoid the minefield altogether, because AI-bros are determined to step on every mine they can and act wide-eyed why they keep exploding
And remember my friend, future events such as these will affect you in the future

"Unlike these stupid females, I get my information from a totally reliable source"However, in post-2024 focus groups, Reset Tech found that young men could demonstrate a “striking lack of self-awareness” when it came to their sources of news and perspectives on current events, considering podcasts like The Joe Rogan Experience essentially unbiased. They also “believed women were trapped in echo chambers looking at makeup and lifestyle content while they themselves received information from neutral, verified sources,” the researchers write.
