Re: General gaming news and discussion
This might be a weird one, but a detail I've always really wanted to see in video games is characters not wearing the same clothes day after day, and occasional shots of them changing clothes. On the last count, there doesn't have to be nudity, something like a scene where someone takes off a soiled shirt and puts on a new one that is a different color would be fine.
It's a small thing, but it would add an extra touch of realism.

Something quite similar that I liked is the option in Red Dead 2 for a bath.
It's nice to feel like your character has good hygiene, after a long day of wading through mud, etc.

Perfect Dark: Everything we know about Joanna Dark's new adventure

That is the story of N64 that, along with the rest of it, the future corporate agent trains in VR so extensively that they are ready for action in real life which sometimes is not much different from the Full Immersion Virtual Reality training you do. Does that not sound like, at the 1990's time, what is currently being seen now with all our version 1 tech with VR and all? Sure there may be some issues and all considered for all this high tech stuff but the wonderous possibilities are just as awesome.
Anyways yeah I'm hyped for it! And if Microsoft decides to ever incorporate a Virtual Reality version of Perfect Dark I'm there!

Its such a damn shame the N64 era did not have crossplay internet gaming because Perfect Dark came out at the end of the N64's life cycle and boy was it an underrated game! If they plan to reboot this to show up in 2023 as per the original Perfect Dark story it should be amazing. I can just imagine the high definition graphics technology with amazing enemy AI players known as Simulants in the game used for VR training.A Perfect Dark reboot is in development for Xbox Series X. Announced in 2020, Perfect Dark is set to be a "secret agent thriller set in a near-future world" that is being torn apart by ecological disasters. A new Perfect Dark game has been a long time coming, with super spy Joanna Dark effectively sitting on the sidelines since Perfect Dark Zero launched alongside the Xbox 360 in 2005.
Development of the Perfect Dark reboot is being handled by The Initiative, a brand new studio formed by Microsoft, whose ambition is to "craft an innovative vision for how high-quality games are created and experienced." While we're hoping to see more of the game during E3 2022, at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase in the E3 2022 schedule, you should keep reading for everything we know so far about the new Perfect Dark.

To know is essentially the same as not knowing. The only thing that occurs is the rearrangement of atoms in your brain.
Re: General gaming news and discussion
Why do some people find that most gaming and games in general have lost their way? I remember gaming was at its best in the 90s and 2000s, and even today. But some people disagree.

Re: General gaming news and discussion
There was a certain "magic" to those early games. But we still have plenty of awesome games today. Some of my best gaming experiences have occurred in the last 5-10 years: Elite Dangerous, Tomb Raider reboot, Red Dead Redemption 2, Detroit: Become Human, and a whole slew of PS3 titles such as God of War 3, the Uncharted series, Vanquish, the list goes on.
I will say this, however – games of today tend to have more bugs, are often delivered late, and frequently get overhyped. Also, the market became oversaturated with FPS shooters a while back. I'd like to see more genuinely original/creative/experimental concepts in gaming. I've been impressed with the Dark Pictures Anthology and its non-linear storylines, for example.
The leaps in graphical quality haven't been quite as massive as the 90s-2000s, but they are still progressing well. Ray-tracing has been perhaps the most significant one of late, plus new techniques like procedural generation. Unreal Engine 5 is also extremely impressive.

Pokémon Go developer Niantic is rolling out its Campfire social network
https://www.theverge.com/2022/6/30/2318 ... rk-rolloutJun 30, 2022
Pokémon Go maker Niantic has made a social app for its games — and it’s coming out very soon. The developer says that the app, called Campfire, will kick off its global rollout “in the coming days.” Campfire was originally announced in May and has been in a testing phase with Ingress players over the last few months. The initial rollout will be available for “select groups of Pokémon Go players throughout the summer,” according to the developer.
The core of Campfire is a map that includes information about nearby in-game events and activities, theoretically making it easier to find folks to play with or arrange meet-ups with friends. It includes a group and private messaging tool for your in-game friends; in Pokémon Go, for instance, you can DM a raid location to a buddy to make it easier to get together. You can also do things like add a “flare” to a location to encourage nearby players to come by if something interesting is happening. Check out the screenshots below for a better idea of how the app functions:
The idea of a Niantic-focused social network may seem superfluous with the glut of messaging apps already out there, but it makes some degree of sense given just how many games the company is working on. In addition to Pokémon Go and Ingress, Niantic also has Pikmin Bloom in the wild, along with in-development games like virtual pet sim Peridot and the just-announced basketball game NBA All World.

What a thing: Microsoft unveiled a limited-edition Xbox Series X in the style of Thor's hammer
https://gagadget.com/en/xbox-series-x/1 ... rs-hammer/yesterday, 23:03
Such a gadget is dedicated to the premiere of the new Marvel Studios movie, "Thor: Love and Thunder." The console is made in the form of a broken-down Mjolnir. It even comes with a grip. The gamepad, though not shown, probably looks appropriate.
You can't buy a special version of the Xbox Series X, but you can win it by taking part in contest.

Red Dead Redemption/GTA IV Remasters Reportedly Canceled Due to Poor GTA Trilogy Reception
https://wccftech.com/red-dead-redemptio ... reception/16h
Rumors regarding a Red Dead Redemption remaster or remake have swirled around for nearly six years. Our first such report dates back to September 2016, when Korean website Gamefocus.co.kr stated that Red Dead Redemption HD would be announced shortly for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, due to be released in early 2017.
Of course, that never happened. Fans then got their hopes up for an unofficial remaster titled Red Dead Redemption: Damned Enhancement Project. Unveiled in August 2019, it aimed to modify the emulated Xenia/RPCS3 versions on PC to improve on aspects like textures, UI/UX menu elements, in-game HUD, draw optimizations, shader and model updates, and more.
However, the Red Dead Redemption: Damned Enhancement Project didn't last long. A couple of weeks later, modder DamnedDev announced that Take-Two sent him a cease and desist (C&D) letter demanding to stop working on the mod project.
Earlier this year, YouTuber Digital Dreams did his best to enhance the RPCS3 version with a ReShade preset that used, among others, MartyMcFly's RTGI shader. But Red Dead Redemption fans had their hopes once again rekindled in late May when Rockstar insider Chris Klippel said that the remaster had been in the works at Rockstar in late 2020 alongside a next-generation update for Red Dead Redemption 2.

Its a work of beauty and the reason why I'm here. Life extension immortality to explore the galaxy is one of the amazing reasons why I am dedicated to seeing the Future Timeline meet its predictions (the good ones of course). I sometimes wonder if the US gov has figured out zero g and other high tech aircraft way before others to at least go to the moon with something cool. Some of the spy aircraft they have shown throughout the years that orbits the Earth look like the one in this gif. Someone has to have thought about it!

I really enjoy these kind off games especially from video games such as Telltale Games.
