In a few years from now, many of us will benefit from some of the therapeutics listed below. They will push us closer to achieving LEV.

Selective Removal of Aging Cells Opens New Possibilities for Treating Age-Related Diseases
The study findings have been published ahead of their official publication in the online version of JACS on September 4, 2023.

The more I hear about all the breakthroughs in aging treatments, the more I believe we could at least have extended lifespans by as soon as a decade or so. I also don't subscribe to the idea that it would only be for the wealthy, as any "fountain of youth" treatment is going to be seen more like a fat loss pill and would instantly create billions (likely trillions) for whomever gets there first. Wouldn't even need to be that expensive to do so either.
Just wonder how different an ageless society would be compared to what we've have now. Having all the time in the world may inspire people to actually start to reflect a bit.

A revolutionary breakthrough in medical research has unveiled a cutting-edge technology capable of selectively removing aging cells, offering a promising new approach to treating age-related diseases. This groundbreaking development is set to redefine the future of healthcare and usher in a new era of targeted therapeutic interventions.
A research team, led by Professor Ja Hyoung Ryu from the Department of Chemistry at UNIST, in collaboration with Professor Hyewon Chung from Konkuk University, has achieved a significant breakthrough in the treatment of age-related diseases. Their cutting-edge technology offers a promising new approach by selectively removing aging cells, without harming normal healthy cells. This groundbreaking development is poised to redefine the future of healthcare and usher in a new era of targeted therapeutic interventions.

Tech billionaire on journey to immortality says there is a ‘low probability’ humans will survive without AI
By Nikolas Lanum
Johnson told Fox News Digital that he does not speak to the dangers of AI. Instead, he speaks to the dangers of humans and their capacity to cause harm.
"It's humans, I fear," Johnson said. "I think there's probably a very low probability that humans could survive themselves without artificial intelligence."
The rapid acceleration of AI, combined with other technological advancements and a greater emphasis on health, may one day lead to a world where people live much longer or may even see death as an improbability rather than an eventuality.
Johnson said his summation of the modern world's problems should be siphoned into something actionable to him personally. With that in mind, he boiled down the essence of the 21st century into two words: Don't die.
"When you're baby steps away from having the powers of the gods, in this case, artificial intelligence, the only foe is death," he added. "There's no other foe. It's not a time to raise armies and conquer territory. That's a game for the previous centuries of Homo sapiens. It's not a game for us now. So, we're just at a different era of being human, and we need to update our gameplay as a species to understand where we're at."

Yeah, I reduced my consumption of red meat a few years back.
My iron levels are currently optimal.
(these results are from Thriva, a blood test I take every few months)

Science and political concerns were both discussed at this conference.

The Longevity World Meets in Dublin for a Second Time
Science and political concerns were both discussed at this conference.
Last year’s inaugural Longevity Summit Dublin conference was a good start. Its second iteration, held in August this year, was universally acclaimed for being even bigger and better. Just like the last time, this conference was marked by a considerable presence of longevity advocates alongside scientists and entrepreneurs.

Bobi, the world's oldest dog ever, dies aged 31
3 hours ago
The world's oldest dog ever has died at the age of 31 years and 165 days.
Guinness World Record holder Bobi, a purebred Rafeiro do Alentejo, passed away at his home in Portugal on Saturday.
His death was announced on social media by a veterinarian who met Bobi several times.
"Despite outliving every dog in history, his 11,478 days on earth would never be enough, for those who loved him," wrote Dr Karen Becker.
Bobi became both the world's oldest living dog and the oldest dog ever in February - beating an almost century-old record for the latter title.
The previous oldest dog ever was Australia's Bluey, who died in 1939 at the age of 29 years and five months.

Cell rejuvenation company Turn Biotechnologies has reported receiving positive feedback during an FDA INTERACT meeting to review the company’s therapeutic treatment to rejuvenate skin cells. The company, which is developing mRNA medicines for a range of age-related conditions, said that the meeting focused on its progress and plans for TRN-001, a treatment designed to repair damaged skin at the cellular level.
Turn Bio says its preclinical results demonstrate that TRN-001 improves skin integrity, reduces inflammation and cell senescence and achieves hair follicle transfection. If the therapy goes on to work in humans, the company claims it would be the first treatment to repair skin damage at a cellular level, restoring follicles’ ability to grow hair.

Just wow. Wow. I wouldn't believe it if it wasn't for the fact it's Dr. Sinclair saying those things.

Re: Aging & Longevity News and Discussions
Sounds clickbaity tbh.
Re: Aging & Longevity News and Discussions
I wouldn't quite say it is clickbaity. A moderate amount of hyperbole on the part of the writer, perhaps. I didn't care about any of that. It was the things Dr. Sinclair said between the interjections by the writer that inspired me. Dr. Sinclair isn't known to make statements he cannot support. It was enough to encourage Peter H. Diamandis, who was talking to Dr. Sinclair in this Abundance 360 interview, to rouse the audience in the room into an applause.

Re: Aging & Longevity News and Discussions
Random thought/question I had:
At what point in time will the average lifespan (either globally or in at least one specific country) pass 100 years?

I'm just a bird who escapes his cage to post here sometimes.
Re: Aging & Longevity News and Discussions
Based on a rough extrapolation I just made -- 2150 or thereabouts, for most countries.
But life expectancy could become sort of meaningless if we reach LEV.
