'I screwed up': Joe Biden addresses debate performance with Milwaukee radio host

Read more: https://www.jsonline.com/story/news/pol ... 298805007/WASHINGTON – President Joe Biden in a Milwaukee radio interview said he “screwed up” during the debate with former President Donald Trump last week — marking some of the first public comments from the president since the event.
“I had a bad night," Biden told Milwaukee radio host Earl Ingram in a pre-recorded interview that aired Thursday morning. "And the fact of the matter is that I screwed up. I made a mistake."
Biden pledged that he was "going to win this election" and defeat Trump again. He referenced a line from his father: "When you get knocked down, you just get back up."
"I didn't have a good debate," Biden said. "That’s 90 minutes on stage. Look at what I’ve done in 3.5 years.”

Aged like milk and worse than Biden. I hope everyone is having a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday.....Cyber_Rebel wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2024 7:51 am The idea or perception that he is under consideration for replacing Biden. Such is purely speculatory and has little chance of happening in the middle of an election cycle.
...
Next week, I imagine the Democrats will retire Biden out for Harris, as anything else such as keeping him on at this point literally is handing the election to Trump. This deluge of unfit insanity right on the fourth just cemented it. At least they can pretend to want to win in this instance.

I mean having him resign in favor of Harris would check off the incumbency key, and by releasing his delegates to then support Harris would check off the "no primary contest" key, therefore ensuring victory.

Have to remember that Kamala herself isn't really that popular, either. Her recent surge (manufactured or not) is very much because of Biden's decline. Now, it may not be fair to her, but overall, I'd rather play Machiavellianism with regard to someone like Trump than the decorum of platitudes the Dems like to abide towards. In other words, they need to consider all options logically and base their choice even if it goes against the standard procedure. This might even be a very rare chance for the Democrats to rebrand and revitalize the party if they were to play their cards correctly. Not holding my breath on that, but we'll see.firestar464 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2024 11:48 am God no that'll screw up the incumbency and primary contest keys to the presidency
In any case, a decision will be made soon since the money tap is being threatened of getting cut off. Unless Biden intends to go full grassroots ala Bernie, and... something tells me that won't be happening... then...

Disney heiress, wealthy Democratic donors say they won’t finance the party until Joe Biden drops out
-----------------------------------------------------------------President Joe Biden is facing an uprising from some his own party’s wealthy donors, including an heiress to the Disney
family fortune, who say they will no longer fund the Democratic Party until Biden drops out of the presidential race following his disastrous debate performance.
Abigail Disney, granddaughter of Roy O. Disney, who co-founded The Walt Disney Co., told CNBC on Thursday that she plans to withhold donations to the party she has funded for years until Biden drops out. The president has said he has no plans to withdraw from the race, despite calls for him to do so.
“I intend to stop any contributions to the party unless and until they replace Biden at the top of the ticket. This is realism, not disrespect. Biden is a good man and has served his country admirably, but the stakes are far too high,” Abigail Disney said in a lengthy statement to CNBC. “If Biden does not step down the Democrats will lose. Of that I am absolutely certain. The consequences for the loss will be genuinely dire.”
Regarding Gavin Newsom, I'd suppose one could almost compare him to Keir Starmer in the sense that he's more of a center-left figure within the "context" of our countries. Not exactly as progressive as Sanders (or Corbyn in Starmer's case) but more forward thinking than Biden in at least framing issues. Since this is his state, @caltrek likely knows more about how he's like as a statesman.
Here's some context on him and his policies of what he's done, and how he might actually govern as POTUS for those interested. This is meant to be balanced from positive-neutral-critique:

Perhaps may do a dive into Gretchen Whitmer as well if the winds appear to move in that direction.

Indeed.
Here's a more accurate poll from The New York Times/Siena College (ranked number 1 in the pollster ratings). I really doubt he can last much longer:

Ehhh according to 270towin, WI is tilting Joe, while Trump retains MI only by a sliver. Still not denying the difficulties ahead for Joe though.
