WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump on Sunday called into question the future of Iran's ruling theocracy after a surprise attack on three of the country’s nuclear sites, seemingly contradicting his administration's earlier calls to resume negotiations and avoid an escalation in fighting.

“It’s not politically correct to use the term, ‘Regime Change,’ but if the current Iranian Regime is unable to MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN, why wouldn’t there be a Regime change???” Trump posted on social media. “MIGA!!!"

The posting on Truth Social marked something of a reversal from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s Sunday morning news conference that detailed the aerial bombing.

“This mission was not and has not been about regime change,” Hegseth said.

The truth is Iran is evil and really does want to wipe the jews off the face of the planet. What's the difference to them between military and civilian? I don't like war but at this point there's a reason why we're heading towards it.

Israel bombed first to stop the nuclear program but this hatred was building for decades.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel said on Sunday night that Israel was “very, very close” to realizing its objectives in the conflict with Iran, hours after President Trump launched an American attack on three Iranian nuclear sites.

In a televised address, Mr. Netanyahu said that Israel had begun bombing Iran on June 13 “to remove two concrete, existential threats: the nuclear threat and the ballistic missile threat.”

“We are advancing, step by step, to achieve these goals,” he said. “We are very, very close to completing them.”

The Iranian government does evil things, but they're not completely irrational. If they had nuclear weapons, I don't think they'd immediately use them on Israel, but it would probably happen eventually. The risk is unacceptable, hence why I don't want a nuclear Iran.

I think Iran is probably trying to hit Israeli military and government buildings, but their missiles keep missing due to guidance system limitations or Israeli electronic warfare. Blowing up Mossad HQ would be infinitely more valuable to Iran than blowing up a random apartment building.

I doubt Russia will provide any significant help to Iran. History has shown the Russia's grandiose statements are usually hollow, and diplomatic promises they make to other countries aren't worth the paper they're printed on. Anyway, Russia is so tied up fighting Ukraine that it can't spare anything.

(Daily Beast) President Donald Trump ripped into Iran and Israel for violating a ceasefire deal within hours of his triumphant announcement.
“You basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don’t know what the f--- they’re doing! Do you understand that?” he told reporters Tuesday morning on his way to the NATO summit in The Hague.

“I’m really unhappy if Israel is going out this morning because [of] the one rocket that didn’t land, that was shot perhaps by mistake,” he said, adding that as soon as he was done speaking to the reporters he planned to “see if [he] could stop it.”

Less than a half-hour later, he seemed to consider the situation back under control.

“ISRAEL is not going to attack Iran,” he wrote in a Truth Social post. “All planes will turn around and head home, while doing a friendly ‘Plane Wave’ to Iran. Nobody will be hurt, the Ceasefire is in effect!”

A White House source said Trump had spoken to Netanyahu by phone and was “exceptionally firm and direct” about what needed to happen to maintain the ceasefire, CNN reported.
