He's broken at least two laws which carry a maximum of life in prison.

Criminal Damage with Intent to Endanger Life (Section 1(2) Criminal Damage Act 1971)

Maximum sentence: Life imprisonment

Offences against the Person Act 1861

Impeding a person endeavouring to save himself from shipwreck.

Whosoever shall unlawfully and maliciously prevent or impede any person, being on board of or having quitted any ship or vessel which shall be in distress, or wrecked, stranded, or cast on shore, in his endeavour to save his life, or shall unlawfully and maliciously prevent or impede any person in his endeavour to save the life of any such person as in this section first aforesaid, shall be guilty of felony, and being convicted thereof shall be liable... to be kept in penal servitude for life.

(For anyone wondering, penal servitude was replaced with a prison term of the same length by the Criminal Justice Act 1948)

I think Burnham is playing a blinder right now. Much more hopeful and targeted at the most pressing issues compared to Starmer.

So today's announcements are:

– an end to the pensions triple lock, potentially saving billions, to help fund a new National Care Service
– plans for electoral reform (proportional representation!)
– the biggest council house building programme since the 1970s
– overhaul of the leasehold system (no more extortionate fees)
– an end to rough sleeping
– welfare reform focused on helping more young people into work
– greater public ownership of water companies
– new publicly owned electricity-grid investment body (under Great British Energy)
– an explicit acknowledgment that Brexit has done "more harm than good".

I mean at some point there needs to be serious talk of rejoining the EU outright
You'll never get back what you lost, but we're literally TEN years on (hard to believe it's been ten years), at some point just take the national L and admit it has to be done
I've no doubt it'd come down to another referendum, but I fear that would be foolish; zero doubt Musk would turn Xitter into maximum overdrive to convince any Brits on it to never regret the vote even if they're currently seething about it
And remember my friend, future events such as these will affect you in the future
