10 years ago this news would be absolutely crazy think when Deep Mind was created.

It's true that we've had a lot of massive disruptions lately, and it remains to be seen how they affect AI development in the coming years. I for one am convinced that video synthesis should have been further along in 2020-2021 than it is.

I remember seeing this as a gif almost a decade ago, back when there was still just a "puddly sheen on the ground"
Now it's a third of the way filled.
Coincidentally, AI progress has been outrageous lately.

This is subjective but another coincidence is just as we can see water rising fast in the video clip I can now personally see exponential growth in AI despite being an average Joe or maybe a village idiot lol, with little prior knowledge on AI. So much so seeing the equivalent of the water rising in real life has made me go a bit overboard with trying to keep up with news etc.
