Future Timeline

What is more likely by 2100?
1. A.i control of production allowing for a basic income for all. A.i controlled robots control production and this allows for a basic income for all humans to live in comfort.
2. Fusion, solar and wind power making up 99% of all energy needs on earth.

Both? I don't really see this as an either/or type of scenario. By the end of the century, I'd assume some powerful superintelligence would have been long in control, or at the least controls the supply chains and production lines while allowing humanity to have the illusion of choice. If said superintelligence helped crack fusion, then that and other renewables would be powering vast datacenters and many other high-quality energy needs.

Assuming all goes well of course.

I'm in agreement with Rebel - it's likely both.

Human extinction seems more likely, the way things are going.
