Self Improvement

I had made a thread called optimizing self improvement which I think was silly of me, a general self improvement thread makes more sense.

Excluding psychiatrist appointments I am working on myself about 3 hours a day (I estimated about 192 minutes a day) about 1.5 hours of this is working on my business. I don't currently work a normal job due to covid but I do have a casual job to return to.

I think the average person works on themselves about 7 hours a day, a full time job is 38 hours (where I live, maybe it is like 40 in your country) 38 divided by 7 is 5.4 then add about 1.5 hours of non work related self improvement a day.

This means I need to be working on myself 7 hours a day to just be an average functioning person and go beyond this figure to achieve more than the average person.

A month and a third ago (May 28th) I was working on my self about 75 minutes a day (30 minutes on business 45 minutes on other stuff) so in 42 days the time I am productive has increased by 117 minutes or 256%.

I think % growth in productivity is a better measurement than additional time I am productive for because as I adjust to bigger work loads the volume of what I can add to my work load increases. Adding 15 minutes now is probably easier than adding 5 minutes on may 28th. Also the time I work on myself in a day is still low so I have a lot of free time to grow into making the % figure still a ok indication of the future.

Being conservative and expecting 256% growth in productivity over 2 months instead of 42 days it looks like I can expect to be working on myself 8.2 hours a day 2 months from now. Which would put me above the average person and suggests I would rapidly fix gaping problems in my life.

Obviously these thoughts are quite simple one thing the thoughts don't account for is the absence of bad activities. I do think I am improving in this area as well for example I don't expect to have any chocolate/sweets today and this would have been a unrealistic expectation in the past.

Note I reference the day may 28th a few times this is because it is when I started planning my life daily using a self made planning system which has worked for me these last 42 days.
