I'm a little surprised, more left than I thought, though they are correct on the reformist part. I suppose I'd compare it to the SPD of Germany with characteristics of their Green Party. I'd have to take it again for consistency, but likely more accurate than the traditional compass one.

I ended up taking the test twice. Some of the questions struck me as being a little weird, and far too many of my answers the first time around were "neutral or hesitant."

Edit: I like that I scored high in "Rehabilitative Justice," being a "Progressive," and "Internationalism." I also scored high in "Regulation," but I regard that as a necessary evil.

I think took the test about a year or so ago, so I know some of the questions that kind of get to me by then. But I figured doing it again.

Usually political tests mean nothing to me, instead they are more of an indicator, probably because I am not really fussed by what part of the political compass I am in. I think the issue is so that people are tied up by the infamous political compass of automatically associating themselves ‘libleft’ or ‘authright’ as if they are in a social club that it has become an ‘identifying’ component of themselves.

Some of the questions were poorly worded but I think it's mostly accurate. My primary nitpick is with the ecology questions, there were a few where my ideal answer was both in favor of production and ecology but the options were presented in a falsely mutually exclusive manner. As people here know I am very vocal about ecology but human needs need to be met too. Critical imbalances in the ecosystem and our system of production must be fixed, especially in terms of waste in the supply chain, but that doesn't mean all resource extraction is bad either.

The same can be said about some of the questions on private property. I believe that workers should own the means of production but that doesn't mean all market activity is unethical or should be outcast. Neither a coop nor a sole proprietorship where the business owner is the only employee are engaging in wage-slavery. I'd also argue there's some nuance around agrarian economies especially where farms and or businessmen are entirely family owned and operated where the family doesn't use any wage-labor or labor outside of the family. Of course all economic activity should be subject to societal standards for ecological reasons but that's a separate question.

Same, I feel like the one about language was one such example, due to it featuring both protecting/replacing language in one go. If one favored protecting the French speaking culture of Quebec, then this question would've been entirely at odds.

I also feel like the "extremity" of some questions depend entirely upon the situation one is facing in their respective country. For America, of course we're all gonna sound like "communist" due to how unequal such a society is, but for Germany, Canada, or elsewhere that perspective is entirely different.

Tried to send you a PM ; ) If you open them I'll resend my answer there. If you're familiar with the idea of social democracy, regulated capitalism, welfare states, and the like, the SPD pretty much has a commitment to that ideal.

I came across this political test which seems to be the best one I have ever seen.
Instead of giving you random percentages and asking you irrelevant questions it asks you questions in a flowchart format and gives you a specific ideology.
