Tech Failures Watch Thread

Here's a general thread to discuss those times technology flat-out fails us. When tech companies prove how bad of an idea the IoT currently is, when tech doesn't live up to the hype, when AI proves itself to be a digital parlor trick, when rockets explode, when the police algorithm randomly arrests an innocent high-melanin person because of probabilities rather than evidence, when the smart TV plays ads on top of ads despite you purchasing the expensive ad-free tier, when the autonomous car drives past a stop sign straight into a second stop sign, things of that nature. Basically, whenever the Future⢠fails.
