Damn. Omicron is a class of its own.
To know is essentially the same as not knowing. The only thing that occurs is the rearrangement of atoms in your brain.

Seems to be conflicting information in the news. Some saying it's mild, others saying it's more serious. Think I'll wait 2-3 weeks for more data and a conclusive analysis.

Interesting:

https://www.reuters.com/world/africa/sa ... 021-11-28/

S.African doctor says patients with Omicron variant have "very mild" symptoms

Albeit this is one report. And hospitalizations are increasing in Gauteng... so this is not consistent and looks like it may be becoming more misinformation. We won't know for another week and a half as COVID typically can take several days to transition from mild to severe.

Thus why I said it appears to be misinformation spreading, and being propelled my mainstream news sources. Not a good look as I'm not sure how we would be able to tell without at least 2 weeks having past as that is how long it takes for the disease to run it's course to see if it will get severe...

I don't know why people keep running their mouths...

Indeed.

Basically, these next three weeks are going to determine whether Omicron is a nothingburger, or if 2022 will be a colder year than 2020.

If it's worse than Delta, the timing literally couldn't be worse for me. I have two Christmas parties with my company in the next two weeks, and plan to visit my brother and two young nephews for Christmas (haven't seen them in person for two years). :(
