I remember when I was a kid, I'd dream of having "portable consoles." I liked the GBC and GBA, but I always wondered 'what if you could carry around the Xbox or PS2?"
Now we've long since surpassed that— a handheld console today would be about as powerful as the PS4 and Xbox One— but it's still fun to see those old dreams come true.
On saying that, it's kinda interesting I got to be a kid in the last era where there was a quantifiable difference in quality between home and handheld consoles. Home consoles were 3D and could even output HD quality, whereas handhelds could only do 2D and VERY rough 3D in the most experimental of cases. So there was a clear delineation between the two. Whereas nowadays, even your watch could play an HD video game. You could put a PS2-quality throwaway game in every cereal box if you wanted.

In the not-so-distant future, I can imagine smartglasses will use AI to simulate raw night vision technology so as to allow for anyone to wear a pair of full-color night vision glasses. The fear of the dark may soon be a thing of the past...
