Also appears that Putin may get indicted at The Hague...
No trial is needed, Putin and his collaborators could be shot on sight, unfortunately we can't get to them.

"We care about civilians." – Certain Russian user
There you go. I've said from the very start modern day Russians are Nazis. Y'all can argue with me about this or that technicality about why Russia isn't technically fascist, but I'm not talking about the political structure of their government. I'm talking about who they are in spirit. Mass murders of civilians, leaving their bodies in the streets with their hands and legs tied; crimes against humanity that only a truly evil nation could commit. It was the Nazis before, today it's Russia.

And as for our local Russian nazi's quote, not surprising in the least. You have to realize everything these people say and do is in bad faith. They don't wish to reason or compromise, like you and I do. Everything is either an attack or distraction. They never concede an inch, or admit they were wrong. Example:

Russian: "Ukraine should be neutral"
Naive Westerner: "you know what they might have a point"
Russian: "NATO must pull back from Eastern Europe"
Naive Westerner: "well they have a point here too, after all, Russia's concerns have to be considered"
Russian: *invades Ukraine and commits mass murder of civilians*
Naive Westerner: surprised face

You try to argue and reason, but for them the goal is already set. Negotiation is a distraction. While you're busy debating the merit of their argument, they're already sneaking around to stab you in the back because that was the plan all along.

Well, it's not as if the Nazis were even the first Fascist state, just the most infamous, and some actually do attempt to separate Nazism from Mussolini's idea of Fascism. I'd suppose it is pointless semantics, just as we have different versions or ideas of Democracy, Capitalism, Socialism, etc., there would logically be variations of certain totalitarian governments as well.

People just get too hung up on Hitler and every totalitarian supposedly being similar when in actuality he was likely an outlier. I mean in style of course, and I think what's made Russia or any other totalitarian dictatorship harder to deal with is falling within these same trappings. We shouldn't need some screaming jackass with a funny mustache releasing stupid novels before we decide a society has slipped into barbarism.

If their actions and actual societal policies fit the bill, then yes, that's exactly what they are. They can scream about not being Fascist all they like; just how North Korea is supposedly a "Democratic People's Republic." Not like Vladimir doesn't have totalitarian control anyways, the "elections" are just for show (legitimacy) and likely a mockery. Remember this? It's a special democratic operation. It's the same with China and Xi, the idea that they could be simply voted out of office like our leaders is laughable.

Zelenskyy says the full withdrawal of Russian troops is the 'bare minimum' he will accept
Source: Insider
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the full withdrawal of Russian troops is the "bare minimum" he will accept.

"This is the bare minimum that we have to start the de-occupation with. It should be 100% withdrawal of troops to the borders that existed prior to the 24th of February, at least," Zelenskyy told Margaret Brennan during an interview on "Face the Nation" on CBS News.

In the interview on Sunday, Zelenskyy also accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of committing genocide in Ukraine, calling the invasion "the elimination of the whole nation and the people."

Last week, Russia's Defense Ministry announced that it would scale back assaults on the capital of Kyiv amid peace talks between the two countries. One Ukrainian MP said the move was an attempt to "save face," and that Russian forces were really "kicked" out of the city, prompting concerns about whether the Kremlin really wants peace.

Gee, I wonder why all these war crimes are being done:

Disillusioned Russian Troops Killing Ukrainians for Their Cellphones: Official

Russian troops fighting in Ukraine are seizing local civilians’ cellphones en masse – and in some cases killing them if they refuse – in what several officials describe as a systematic attempt to gain access to outside information and exact brutal punishments against Ukrainians.

'Khokhol [хохол; xoxol]. A derogatory Russian term for Ukrainians. Khokhol literally means a sheaf or tuft of cereal stalks and is derived from an old Slavic word.'

I can't blame President Zelensky for wanting to institute a no-fly zone. Russians have proven themselves to be equally as terrible as some of Imperial Japan's atrocities, and yes, the Nazis as well. This will galvanize the West even more so than it already is. Fascist Russia absolutely cannot co-exist with the modern world any longer.

The nuclear problem needs a solution, whether it be Reagan's "Star Wars" or other methods. The world will be better off without raping genociding thugs plaguing it.

Absolutely. We cannot be held at gunpoint with nuclear weapons and allow Russia to carry out such genocide without punishment. Viable ABM systems must be developed, and after that Russia must be subjugated and purged of all fascists who wanted this war.

Note: this is more as a precaution in-case a nuclear power plant is struck, not because of any expectation that nuclear war is imminent. If anything it seems the threat of this going "big" nuclear has decreased the virtually nil barring a Western power making that move, whereas this still has the threat of going "little" nuclear— i.e. a nuclear power plant deliberately attacked or a dirty bomb going off.

Romania is launching a campaign to inform its citizens of how to store and take iodine tablets in the event of a nuclear incident, as Russia’s offensive in neighboring Ukraine continues.

“At the moment, there is no danger that makes it necessary to take these pills,” the Romanian health ministry underlined in a statement today.

The country has decided to provide iodine tablets to all people under the age of 40 from mid-April. In preparation, from Monday, the ministry will launch a public information campaign, including advising people on how to take preventative measures to avoid radiation exposure.

While not explicitly mentioning the potential threat caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Romania borders the war-ravaged country where, up until recently, Russian troops were in control of both the largest nuclear power plant in Europe and the damaged site of Chernobyl. Russia also has an arsenal of nuclear weapons.

Romania’s policy will align with that of Finland, Bulgaria, Belgium and others that have for some time provided free iodine tablets to citizens, with some countries reporting a rush on pills since Russia’s invasion.

In the event of a nuclear incident, radioactive iodine can be dispersed into the air. Any that is inhaled or ingested is absorbed by the thyroid gland, leading to thyroid cancer. Iodine tablets can block that absorption and reduce the risk of cancer.

Honestly I have to admit, whenever I thought of "nuclear war," it never occurred to me that we could have radiation devastation without a single nuclear warhead or dirty bomb being used. In other words, a "weaponized Chernobyl." Undoubtedly we're going to have to keep the thought of the safety of nuclear power plants on our minds in the likely case of future wars between nuclear countries— a designation which doesn't necessarily mean "nuclear-armed."

Very difficult to make an effective anti missile system, especially if you cannot let a single warhead pass through.
Remember a launch can be made from submarines, so the reaction time is short.

That problem will be overcome by a high-power laser system in the megawatt class or above, like the LaWS system installed on the USS Ponce but on a greater scale. Raytheon is working on a laser that is capable of vaporizing hypersonic missiles. It's just a matter of scaling it up with more power per charge and quickly recharge to the point it can vaporize hundreds of missiles in a short span of time made possible by advances in battery technology. I can imagine a future where laser batteries or a cluster of them will be scattered across the continents and on floating platforms in the oceans, at the ready to shoot down any missiles at a moment's notice. By then, governments that rely on ballistic missiles even from underwater submarines will be at a huge strategical disadvantage.

But I digress, we're getting off track so let's go back to the topic of this thread - the war at Ukraine.
