Woman Shot After Opening Fire Inside Dallas Love Field Airport: Dallas Police

A woman pulled out a gun inside Dallas Love Field Airport late Monday morning and began shooting toward the ceiling, Dallas police say. The woman was confronted and shot by officers. No other injuries have been reported. Dallas Chief of Police Eddie Garcia said the woman was dropped off at the airport just before 11 a.m. and that once inside she went into a restroom and changed clothes.
Garcia said the woman exited the restroom wearing what a hoody, pulled out a gun and started firing several shots. Most of the shots, Garcia said, appeared to be directed toward the ceiling.
Officers inside the airport confronted the woman and shot her in her lower extremities. The woman was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital in an unknown condition. No further information about her or the motivation behind the shooting is known.
Cell phone video shared with NBC 5 showed travelers on the ground, behind chairs at the gates and sheltering in place. The investigation is ongoing. Agents with the Dallas FBI's field office were seen at the airport along with Dallas Police.

UVALDE, Texas (AP) — Nearly 400 law enforcement officials rushed to mass shooting that left 21 people dead at a Uvalde elementary school but “systemic failures” created a chaotic scene that lasted more than an hour before the gunman was finally confronted and killed, according to a report from investigators released Sunday.
The nearly 80-page report obtained by multiple media outlets is the first to criticize both state and federal law enforcement, and not just local authorities in Uvalde, Texas, for the bewildering inaction by officers who massed in the hallway at Robb Elementary School. The report was written by an investigative committee from the Texas House of Representatives and released to family members Sunday.
The findings are the most complete account yet of the May 24 massacre in South Texas and the hesitant and haphazard response by heavily armed law enforcement as a gunman fired inside a fourth-grade classroom. According to the Texas Tribune, which reviewed the report ahead of its scheduled release to the public later Sunday, the overwhelming majority of responders at the school were federal and state law enforcement. That included nearly 150 U.S. Border Patrol agents and 91 state police officials, according to the Tribune.
The report by an investigative committee led by the Texas House of Representatives follows weeks of closed-door interviews with more than 40 people, including witnesses and law enforcement who were on the scene of the shooting. The committee had scheduled a private meeting with Uvalde families to discuss their findings before releasing the report to the public.
FBI Building Attacked in Cincinnati August 11, 2022

(Politico) An armed suspect attempted an attack on an FBI building in Cincinnati on Thursday morning, allegedly brandishing multiple weapons before leading FBI officials on a car chase.
“On August 11, 2022, at approximately 9:15 EST, the FBI Cincinnati Field Office had an armed subject attempt to breach the Visitor Screening Facility,” an FBI spokesperson told POLITICO. “Upon the activation of an alarm and a response by armed FBI special agents, the subject fled northbound onto Interstate 71.”
The situation was active until after 4:15 p.m. Eastern, when the county’s emergency management office announced that the law enforcement response and operations had ended.
According to an Ohio State Highway Patrol spokesperson, the chase ended in a corn field near Interstate 71 and State Route 73. Multiple reports say the subject of the chase exchanged fire with police in the field.
Interstate-71 was closed between State Routes 73 and 68 in Wilmington, Ohio, according to the local NBC affiliate. Portions of State Routes 73 and 380 were also closed. Traffic started moving on Interstate 71 again around 2 p.m., according to the Ohio Department of Transportation. Clinton County Emergency Management said State Route 73 was reopening “shortly” and announced that the lockdown had ended.

“Well, I thought I had a way through bullet proof glass, and I didn’t,” the account wrote at 9:29 a.m. ET. “If you don’t hear from me, it is true I tried attacking the F.B.I., and it’ll mean either I was taken off the internet, the F.B.I. got me, or they sent the regular cops while”
The account had earlier reposted a meme showing Donald Trump saluting Marine One with the text, “RETRUTH TO IF YOU WANT PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP BACK IN OFFICE.”

JERUSALEM (AP) — A gunman opened fire at a bus near Jerusalem’s Old City early Sunday, wounding eight Israelis in a suspected Palestinian attack that came a week after violence flared up between Israel and militants in Gaza, police and medics said.
Two of the victims were in serious condition, including a pregnant woman with abdominal injuries and a man with gunshot wounds to the head and neck, according to Israeli hospitals treating them.
The shooting occurred as the bus waited in a parking lot near the Western Wall, which is considered the holiest site where Jews can pray.
Israeli police said forces were dispatched to the scene to investigate. Israeli security forces also pushed into the nearby Palestinian neighborhood of Silwan pursuing the suspected attacker.

A man is reportedly dead after allegedly ramming his car into a barricade near the US Capitol, causing it to catch fire, before producing a weapon and shooting “indiscriminately” near the building.
The shocking scene was first reported early Sunday morning by PBS News’s Lisa Desjardins, citing multiple sources. US Capitol police has not yet released an official account of the attack; The Independent has reached out for comment and verification.
Agency sources did confirm the incident in a news release shortly after the PBS story broke, noting that the crash occurred around 4.00 eastern time. “At this time, it does not appear the man was targeting any Members of Congress, who are on recess, and it does not appear officers fired their weapons,” read the agency’s statement.
“When our officers heard the sound of gunfire, they immediately responded and were approaching the man when he shot himself. Nobody else was hurt,” it continued.
1 dead, 17 hurt in crash during fundraiser for fire victims

BERWICK, Pa. (AP) — One person was killed and another 17 people injured when a vehicle struck a crowd gathered at a Pennsylvania bar for a fundraiser for victims of a house fire that killed 10 earlier this month; the man police say was the driver was arrested shortly afterward in the beating death of his mother nearby.
The crash occurred at about 6:15 p.m. Saturday outside the Intoxicology Department bar in Berwick, which had been scheduled to hold an all-day fundraising event to benefit victims of the Aug. 5 blaze, that killed seven adults and three children in Nescopeck.
Pennsylvania State Police identified the driver as 24-year-old Adrian Oswaldo Sura Reyes of Nescopeck. He was arraigned early Sunday morning on two counts of criminal homicide.
Shortly after the crash was reported, troopers were called about a man “physically assaulting” a woman less than a mile away in Nescopeck. Troopers arrived to find that Sura Reyes had been arrested by local police and a woman was dead.
Wendy's Employee Charged With Murder After Punching Customer

PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ (KNXV) — A Wendy’s employee is facing second-degree murder charges after allegedly punching a customer in Arizona.
On July 26, police were called to a Wendy’s restaurant located in Prescott Valley, Arizona for an injured person.
A customer had complained about his food order, which led employee Antoine Kendrick to come out from behind the counter and hit the 67-year-old customer in the head, according to the Prescott Valley Police Department.
The customer then fell to the floor, hit his head, and lost consciousness. He was later flown to a Phoenix-area hospital where he died on August 5.

HENDERSON, Ky. − Two people are dead and four others were wounded in a mass shooting at a Henderson homeless shelter for men Thursday night. ... The shooting occurred around 7:40 p.m. at the Harbor House Christian Center at 804 Clay St. About 15 people were inside at the time, Henderson City Commissioner Robert Pruitt said.
In a Facebook post, Henderson police identified the suspect as Kenneth R. Gibbs of Henderson. Shortly before 10 p.m., Henderson police said on social media that Gibbs had been found and taken into custody. Henderson Police Department Chief Sean McKinney said Gibbs was located at Hays Boat Ramp in the 2000 block of North Elm Street.
McKinney said Gibbs was armed when he was arrested at 9:45 p.m.. Gibbs was identified as the shooter by witnesses at the shelter, McKinney said. ... Pruitt confirmed the first fatality to the Courier & Press, and city spokeswoman Donna Stinnett confirmed the second.
Stinnett said Gibbs was reportedly a resident at the center. Henderson police said the scene has been secured. No names of victims have been released.
Shooting erupts at East Bend Safeway: Three people killed, including suspect, police confirm

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) – Someone wielding an assault-style rifle opened fire in the parking lot of a northeast Bend shopping center Sunday evening and soon entered a Safeway store, firing numerous more shots. Three people were killed at the store, including the suspect, police confirmed.
Officers and medics rushed to the Forum Shopping Center just after 7 p.m. after numerous reports of gunshots and one or more victims and/or suspects.
Just before 8:30 p.m., St. Charles spokeswoman Lisa Goodman confirmed that they had received two people, one who was dead on arrival and another reported to be in good condition. A short time later, she said the hospital had been placed in a lockout.
Minutes later, Bend Police Communications Manager Sheila Miller told reporters three people had been shot and killed, including the alleged gunman.

Walled Lake — A Walled Lake man whose daughter said had been struggling with mental issues after embracing conspiracy theories was fatally shot by police Sunday after he allegedly shot and killed his wife and injured another daughter.
According to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, police received a “chilling” 911 call at 4:11 a.m. Sunday from a 25-year-old woman who said her father had shot her and killed her mother, Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said. Police: Oakland high school shooting wounds 6 adults

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — At least six adults were wounded in a shooting at a school campus in Oakland on Wednesday, with at least some of the victims found inside the school, authorities said.
The shooting took place around 12:45 p.m. at Rudsdale Newcomer High School, authorities said. The school serves recent immigrants ages 16-21 who fled violence and instability in their home countries, according to the school’s website. It is one of four adjacent schools located on a block in east Oakland.
Officials have not said whether any of the victims might be students age 18 or older.
“The victims were affiliated with the school and we are determining the affiliation at this time,” Oakland Assistant Police Chief Darren Allison said, although he declined to say whether any students or teachers were involved.

MALANG, Indonesia (AP) — Clashes between supporters of two Indonesian soccer teams in East Java province killed 125 fans and 2 police officers, mostly trampled to death, police said Sunday.
Several brawls between supporters of the two rival soccer teams were reported inside the stadium after the Indonesian Premier League game ended with Persebaya Surabaya beating Arema Malang 3-2.
The fights prompted riot police to fire tear gas, which caused panic among supporters, said East Java Police Chief Nico Afinta.
Hundreds of people ran to an exit gate in an effort to avoid the tear gas. Some suffocated in the chaos and others were trampled, killing 34 almost instantly.
