Key Passage in Mark Meadows Biography Undercuts Trump's Latest Docs Defense
Mediaite

It may not have been a best-seller, but a passage from the now-infamous book about former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows might debunk one of former President Donald Trump’s claims that he was only waving around “newspaper stories” in a newly leaked audio recording.

...snip...

After the new audio leaked, Trump claimed that he was waving around papers that were not classified military plans but “magazines, newspapers, plans of buildings. I have plans of buildings, you know, plans. I had plans of a golf course.”

But the excerpt Mackey posted, from the prologue of The Chief’s Chief, indicates that the papers were exactly what Trump is describing in the audio — a plan from General Mark Milley to attack Iran:

The president recalls a four-page report typed up by Mark Milley himself. It contained the general’s own plan to attack Iran, deploying massive numbers of troops, something he urged President Trump to do more than once during his presidency.[/quote

Trump's lawyers know the Georgia indictment is coming. Trump "truth" Social post 6-30

Snip< “I made a PERFECTLY LEGAL PHONE CALL, AS PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, ABOUT AN ELECTION THAT I STRONGLY FEEL WAS RIGGED AND STOLLEN,” Mr Trump wrote. “NONE of the MANY LAWYERS on the call minded my words, or even hinted at wrongdoing.”

Snip< "You’re not going to be shocked. It’s not rocket science,” Emily Kohrs told the New York Times in January, when the grand jury concluded its work. “You won’t be too surprised.”

Trump Showed Docs to People at Mar-a-Lago's Dining Room Patio

Source: MSNBC’s Alex Witt Reports
Stephanie Grisham revealed that she witnessed her former boss, former President Donald Trump, show classified documents to people at his Florida residence Mar-a-Lago.

Grisham served as both Communications Director and Press Secretary under the Trump administration and appeared Saturday on MSNBC’s Alex Witt Reports, and was asked to comment on Trump’s second indictment surrounding his alleged mishandling of classified documents.

Witt: Look, you know, Donald Trump, is it plausible Trump was showing classified documents to people in private meetings?

Grisham: The short answer is yes. I watched him show documents to people at Mar a Lago on the dining room patio. So he has no respect for classified information. Never did. You know, listening to that exchange every time, it just makes me so angry. He he talks specifically that he should have declassified it, but he didn’t. So there, I think, is proof. I believe also there’s a portion of that audio where he says, you know, this is off the record. And I know Donald Trump knows the rules of reporters and he knows if it needs to be off the record that they can’t talk about it. So I think he was covering himself in that regard. And, you know, I was thinking about this earlier. I just want to say to your viewers, I don’t think people understand how hard it is to get your your classified permission. I remember when I was going through it to get get all of mine. I got held up because of a $13 kindercare bill that I did not know about, and so I couldn’t get it. They go through everything about it. It’s very difficult to get a security clearance. And I think people, you know, they miss that in the weeds, obviously. But to be showing it to people who haven’t gone through the extreme vetting that you go through to get a clearance, it’s you know, it’s a disservice to the country, but it also puts people in danger potentially.

Witt: How high was your security clearance? And I’ve got to think, given that you get held up for a $13, whatever it was, I mean, that’s got to be almost offensive. The Donald Trump goes around and shows it very liberally to people.

Trump aide Walt Nauta pleads not guilty in classified documents case
Source: ABC News
Walt Nauta, the longtime aide to former President Donald Trump who was charged alongside him in the special counsel's classified documents case, has pleaded not guilty to all charges at his arraignment in Miami.

Nauta, who first worked for Trump in the White House before accompanying him to Florida following Trump's presidency, is facing six counts as part of the criminal case involving Trump's handling of classified documents. The charges include conspiracy to obstruct justice and making false statements.

Nauta appeared in a Miami federal courthouse Thursday after his arraignment was repeatedly delayed due in part to his inability to obtain local counsel to represent him. His plea was entered by Trump attorney Stan Woodward, and Nauta was represented by Woodward and local Florida attorney Sasha Dadan.

A magistrate judge in Miami warned Nauta's attorney last week that Thursday's arraignment should be considered the "drop dead" deadline. The longtime aide first appeared in court in Miami with Trump in June, but was not arraigned because he did not have local representation. He and Trump sat with each other at the defendants' table, separated by Trump's attorney, for the duration of the hearing.

Grand jurors who will consider Trump charges to be selected Tuesday
Source: Atlanta Journal Constitution

The selection of two Fulton County grand juries will be made Tuesday, with one of the panels expected to decide whether to hand up an indictment for alleged criminal interference in the 2020 presidential election.

One set of jurors is likely to be asked to bring formal charges against former President Donald Trump and other well-known political and legal figures. In a letter to county officials almost two months ago, District Attorney Fani Willis indicated the indictment could be obtained at some point between July 31 and Aug. 18.

Willis began her investigation shortly after hearing the leaked Jan. 2, 2021, phone call in which Trump asked Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to “find” the 11,780 votes he needed to defeat Joe Biden in Georgia. She later convened a special purpose grand jury which examined evidence and heard testimony over an almost eight-month period. Its final report, only part of which has been made public, recommended multiple people be indicted for alleged crimes.

Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney, who oversaw the special purpose grand jury, will preside over Tuesday’s selection of the two grand juries for this term of court.

Breaking - Kushner testified to the J6 Grand Jury

https://www.nytimes.com/2023/07/13/us/p ... trump.html
Prosecutors Ask Witnesses Whether Trump Acknowledged He Lost 2020 Race

Jared Kushner was questioned before a federal grand jury as prosecutors appeared to be trying to establish if the former president knew his efforts to stay in power were built on a lie.

Federal prosecutors investigating former President Donald J. Trump’s attempts to overturn the 2020 election have questioned multiple witnesses in recent weeks — including Mr. Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner — about whether Mr. Trump had privately acknowledged in the days after the 2020 election that he had lost, according to four people briefed on the matter.

The line of questioning suggests prosecutors are trying to establish whether Mr. Trump was acting with corrupt intent as he sought to remain in power — essentially that his efforts were knowingly based on a lie — evidence that could substantially bolster any case they might decide to bring against him.

Looks like RICO charges from Fani Willis.
From Rolling Stone.
The investigation into Donald Trump’s efforts to undermine Georgia’s 2020 election results is expanding to include Washington, D.C., and various other states, according to a Friday report from The Washington Post.

According to sources who spoke to the Post, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is seeking information regarding two firms the Trump campaign contracted to dig up evidence supporting Trump’s false claims of voter fraud throughout the country.

Simpatico Software Systems and Berkeley Research Group, at least one of which Willis’ office has subpoenaed, were unable to find any instance of voting irregularities that would have changed the outcome of the election. As previously reported by the Post, the Trump campaign ultimately hid the firms’ findings from the public.

Judge denies Trump's request for new trial in E. Jean Carroll case

Source: ABC News
A federal judge in New York on Wednesday denied former President Donald Trump's request for a new trial in the defamation and battery case brought by E. Jean Carroll that resulted in a $5 million damage award.

Trump had sought a new trial after a New York jury in May found him liable for sexually assaulting the former Elle magazine columnist in a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room in the 1990s, then defaming her in a 2022 Truth Social post by calling her allegations "a Hoax and a lie."

Judge Lewis Kaplan denied the request, saying, "The jury in this case did not reach 'a seriously erroneous result.'" "Its verdict is not 'a miscarriage of justice,'" the judge said. "Now that the court has denied Trump's motion for a new trial or to decrease the amount of the verdict, E. Jean Carroll looks forward to receiving the $5 million in damages that the jury awarded her," Carroll's attorney, Roberta Kaplan, said in a statement.

In rendering its verdict in May, the jury held Trump liable for battering Carroll, but did not find that he raped her as alleged, instead holding him liable for sexual assault. Jury members awarded Carroll damages of $2 million in compensatory damages and $20,000 in punitive damages for battery, as well as $1 million in damages, $1.7 million for reputation repair, and $280,000 in punitive damages, for defamation.
