about LGBT+ topics being discussed in local fandoms
Before 2014 or so, I don't recollect any discussions or even mentioning of LGBTQ+ related topics in the manga & anime (M&A), fantasy or gaming (not only video) groups in my area (or my country). In 2014, those discussions have started, and they continue to this day (mostly on-line), resulting in a schism of such groups in about 50%-50%, with one group being totally pro-LGBT+ and other group being largely against LGBT+ in real-life, but tolerating it to an extend in fiction (written or comics for example) or in VR. The more tolerant half has more women percentage than the less tolerant half, which is more male dominant (they are less agreeable on average). I personally don't take part in such discussions at all, I avoid these topics as much as I can. I dislike this division that has happened over the last 10 years or so. Once, in 2016 or 2017 I wrote about this topic on my Facebook page and it resulted in 7 likes and 3 people unfriending me and blocking me. Never did that again.

You're really just taking fringe cases/viewpoints and casting them as the majority/consensus.Tadasuke wrote: ↑Sat Nov 04, 2023 8:14 amAccording to my sources, it's the other way around.Vakanai wrote: ↑Thu Nov 02, 2023 3:15 pm For transgender individuals, being treated as the gender they identify with is what improves their mental health. Suicide is sadly exceptionally high in the trans community, and it wouldn't be if they were just treated like the men and women they are mentally instead of what an x or y chromosome says.
Here's a short version of a congressional hearing from a trans person who regrets:

To clarify : I've been voting right-wing all my adult life and so have my parents. My stance is clear, that transhumanism is not about sex or gender change. It's about improvement. And obviously, virtual reality is counted separately, because it's not the real world, different rules apply. I don't care what you are doing there, when it's closed to me and fully private to you and possibly your friends. But I don't want woke agenda pushed around like it's the best thing ever. Transsexuals are depressed or commit suicides, because they are mentally ill or someone said or did something awful to them. I'm personally depressed, because I think, that the Universe is such a bad place, and there is so much to do in order to correct it, but unfortunately, other people are standing in the way of actual progress.raklian wrote: ↑Thu Nov 02, 2023 3:41 pm Tadasuke, can you clarify those remarks which are underlined?
I hope you understand discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation is against this forum's code of conduct, even you're not targeting anyone specifically.
If I don't get a response within 48 hours, I will have to take corrective measures which includes modifying the post in question and consulting with Wjfox on possible disciplinary action.

Also from what I read ROGD doesn't seem to be widely accepted, as the scientific community was like "transphobic website reports stuff that supports transphobic ideas. no shit." Ozzie guy you're more understanding about this topic than me though I can't stress enough

Re: my view about LGBT+
Some people regret - but you're research seems biased and wrong. It's a minority who regret hrt and transitioning, but this minority gets all the focus by those biased individuals who don't want trans people existing. Don't believe it.Tadasuke wrote: ↑Sat Nov 04, 2023 8:14 amAccording to my sources, it's the other way around.Vakanai wrote: ↑Thu Nov 02, 2023 3:15 pm For transgender individuals, being treated as the gender they identify with is what improves their mental health. On Tuesday, election results poured in and within minutes of polls closing, it became apparent that Democrats were going to have a good night. Kentucky's Governor Andy Beshear surged ahead, despite the over $2 million in anti-trans ads deployed against him. As the evening progressed, Democrats clinched victories in numerous contests, including taking control of the House and Senate in Virginia, securing a pivotal Pennsylvania Supreme Court seat, affirming a constitutional right to abortion in Ohio, and capturing mayoral positions in several municipalities. Another narrative began to emerge, though: the overwhelming defeat of Moms For Liberty and anti-trans school board candidates across the country, including pivotal districts like Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and Loudoun County, Virginia—areas critical to the 2024 election landscape. After championing a significant anti-trans agenda in 2023 and proposing more legislation against the LGBTQ+ community than the past decade, Republicans running on that platform faced unexpected and widespread defeats.

Transgender people can be baptised and be godparents, Vatican says
1 hour ago
Transgender people can be baptised in the Catholic Church as long as doing so does not cause scandal or "confusion", the Vatican has announced.
The Church's doctrinal office also said trans people could be godparents at a baptism and witnesses at a wedding.
The move follows attempts by Pope Francis to make the Church more welcoming to LGBT people.
The Pope told one trans person in July that "even if we are sinners, he (God) draws near to help us".
The Vatican's updated stance comes after Brazilian Bishop José Negri wrote to the Church's Dicastery of the Doctrine of the Faith with six questions regarding LGBT people and their participation in baptism and matrimony.

Gender identity isn’t always based on the binary model of biological sex, and new research indicates that this fluidity may have existed since prehistoric times. After analyzing the contents of over 1,200 ancient graves from seven sites in central Europe, the authors of the new study determined that up to 10 percent may have belonged to non-binary individuals.

Read more here: https://www.courthousenews.com/latin-a ... co-home/MEXICO CITY (Courthouse News) — Authorities in Aguascalientes, Mexico found the body of Jesús Ociel Baena Saucedo, the first openly nonbinary judge in Latin America, in their home on Monday morning.
Baena was 38 years old. Alongside their body, according to the state attorney general's office, was the body of their partner, Dorian Herrera. Both showed signs of violence with a knife or blunt instrument.
State police chief Manuel Alonso García appeared to contradict the attorney general’s office, reportedly stating that no signs of violence were found at the scene.
Baena took office in October 2022. An outspoken proponent of LGBTQ+ rights, they regularly posted photos and videos of themself with a rainbow hand fan and wearing skirts, high heels and other women’s garments. They also took on issues of LGBTQ+ rights like securing same sex marriage and improving living conditions for transgender children in their judgeship.
Their activism led to death threats and other forms of discrimination. In July, Baena was placed under federal protection. Initial reports stated that a guard assigned to protect them made the discovery Monday morning.
Don't mourn, organize.

Original poll: https://www.filesforprogress.org/datase ... l_care.pdf
The data shows that 54% believe it should be left to the parents, which is...not good news per se.
