if THIS IS TRUE then America is going the way of iran and russia. We're seriously fucked. We can forget about anti-aging or anything to do with medical body modification. In fact we'll probably head back to the 19th century in many ways.

New Jersey First Lady Tammy Murphy Suspends Run for U.S. Senate
by Alisa Chasan
March 24, 2024

Introduction:
(CBS) New Jersey first lady Tammy Murphy on Sunday suspended her run for U.S. Senate, days after embattled Sen. Bob Menendez announced he would not be running as a Democrat.

Murphy made the announcement on X.

"I have been genuine and factual throughout, but it is clear to me that continuing in this race will involve waging a very divisive and negative campaign, which I am not willing to do," Murphy said.

Murphy threw her hat into the ring in November to replace embattled Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez, who announced Thursday that he would not be seeking the nomination as a Democrat while he battles federal corruption charges. But he left the door open to running as an independent, saying "hopeful that my exoneration will take place this summer and allow me to pursue my candidacy."

Murphy dropping out of the race clears the path for Rep. Andy Kim to win the Democratic nomination during New Jersey's June 4 Democratic primary. Kim was first elected to the House in 2018.

RFK Jr. Selects Nicole Shanahan as Running Mate for Independent Bid
Erin Doherty
March 26, 2024

Introduction:
(Axios) Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced Tuesday that he is tapping attorney and entrepreneur Nicole Shanahan as his running mate for his independent presidential bid.

Why it matters: His vice presidential selection allows him to ramp up signature collection in nearly two dozen states, as he presses on with his bid to qualify for the ballot in all 50 states.

• Kennedy has only officially qualified for the ballot in Utah, but 23 states allow him to begin collecting signatures for the ballot now that he has named his running mate, CNN reports.

Driving the news: "I'm grateful that Nicole has ... made the momentous and very, very difficult decision to embark with me on this extraordinary crusade to win back our country," Kennedy said at a campaign event on Tuesday in Shanahan's hometown of Oakland.

Zoom in: Shanahan, 38, is the founder and president of Bia-Echo Foundation and the ex-wife of Google co-founder Sergey Brin.

Kuster Will Not Seek Reelection in New Hampshire
by Mary Ellen McIntire
March 27,2024

Introduction:
(Roll Call) New Hampshire Rep. Ann McLane Kuster won’t seek reelection this year, opening up a House seat that she’s held for more than a decade.

“This work has been many things — rewarding, frustrating, inspiring, and challenging. But, more than anything, it has been an honor,” the six-term Democrat said in a statement Wednesday.

“As I look to the future, I am excited by the work and opportunities that lie ahead. We all have a role to play in standing up for what we believe in, advocating for a better future, and pursuing the change that we want to see. I always said I was not going to stay in Congress forever — I will not be seeking re-election in 2024,” she said.

Kuster, 67, chairs the New Democrat Coalition, the largest group of moderate Democrats in Congress, which she plans to keep leading this cycle. She sits on the Energy and Commerce Committee and is a co-chair of the Bipartisan Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Task Force. She’s also a founder and co-chair of the Bipartisan Task Force to End Sexual Violence, and she has sought to work across the aisle while still being a reliable Democratic vote.
Additional Extract:
Kuster is the 11th House Democrat to announce her retirement, and the 25th to be leaving the House at the end of the year because they resigned early or are seeking another office. An additional 21 Republicans have announced plans to either retire or seek another office.
