Chuck Cook Says Tesla FSD V12.3 Is a Gamechanging Build
March 16, 2024 by Brian Wang
Chuck Cook is a supertester of Tesla FSD software. He has declared Tesla FSD V12.3 a gamechanging build.
Chuck Cook on a 40 minute drive had no problems with areas that have always caused issues for other versions. It handled double lights, his unprotected left turns etc…
Ashok Elluswamy, Tesla AI lead, said efforts over the past several months went into making this new approach beat the previous v11 stack (developed over many years). We believe v12 has net surpassed it now, and hence the next set of 12.x releases should bring unprecedented progress.
This is the first version of FSD that uses neural networks “end-to-end”, i.e. going from raw camera videos and vehicle kinematics to producing control actions to drive the vehicle.
Dr. Know it All is expecting Tesla FSD to get as good as the best human drivers this year.
If Tesla FSD V12.3 is like chatGPT 3 or 3.5 then Tesla FSD V12.4 could be like GPT 4.

Tesla is adding smart summon to the Tesla FSD. You will use an app and position an X on a map to tell the car where to drive by itself.
Third FSD Update in One Week – FSD 12.3.3
March 31, 2024 by Brian Wang
Tesla has had its third FSD update in one week. The latest update is Tesla FSD 12.3.3.

The previous versions were FSD 12.3.2 and 12.3.2.1. Those were reported to be better than FSD 12.3.1.
FSD 12.3.1 had crowdsourced data that it was getting 384 miles before a critical disengagement. This would be about 3 times better than then best FSD v11.

Motional, a global leader in driverless technology, and Hyundai Motor Group launched IONIQ 5-based robotaxi Motional’s next-generation robotaxi.
They added LIDAR and other sensors to all-electric Hyundai IONIQ 5. The IONIQ 5 robotaxi is an SAE Level 4 autonomous vehicle that can safely operate without a driver. It’s a zero tailpipe-emissions robotaxi and represents the convergence of the two most transformative technologies in mobility: electrification and autonomy. The fusion of these technologies can make transportation smarter, safer, and more sustainable.
They are now recording 448 Miles between critical disengagements for Tesla FSD 12.3 Supervised. This is over three times better than the best results for any Tesla FSD v11.X and it is over four times better than any Tesla FSD v10.X.
The rate of improvement for Tesla version 12.X is happening in a few months and weeks while the 40% improvement for Tesla FSD v10.X to the last FSD v11.X was nearly three years.
Regulatory bodies from across the globe have slammed Tesla for its branding choice of the Level 2 semi-autonomous driving aid. Jennifer Homendy, chair of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), called the branding "misleading and irresponsible." The California Department of Motor Vehicles filed a complaint of false advertisement with the state's Office of Administrative Hearings in a separate incident. And in some cases, Tesla has even been taken to court over the name. It's clear that the naming of the feature has led to a long string of legal matters that Tesla continues to fight over what the name implies to the consumer.
Semantics aside, Tesla may also be finalizing the name change as it becomes satisfied with a wide release of its software. Owners—well, most of them, anyway—have reported being very satisfied with the capabilities of the latest releases of FSD.
Tesla has also expanded its reach of FSD by putting it in the hands of all owners with a vehicle capable of running the software by enabling a one-month free trial of FSD. Not only does this give the automaker a chance to show off how mature the software has become—plus, perhaps that might bolster the adoption rate of the $12,000 add-on.
Tesla is Creating Level 4 Self Driving Cars Before Our Eyes
April 11, 2024 by Brian Wang
Tesla FSD is rapidly improving and seems to be creating level 4 self driving before our eyes. It is something that is difficult for many to believe and accept. AI systems have a history of not working for a long time and then having improvement that seems sudden to human observers. Once an AI gets into the pretty good relative to humans then they tend to very rapidly get to as good or better than the best human.
They are now releasing FSD 12.3.4 to all Tesla buyers in the North America. It is available to almost 2 million new drivers. FSD 12.4 should be out this month (April) and it is reported to be substantially better. FSD 12.3.4 should be able to handle reverse. There are only a few features that need to be added to get to a feature complete system.

I'm usually ready to cheer on reports of development, but unfortunately they've been saying that for ages now...
Honestly, the past few years and with this development I'd say it is probably going to happen or I am going to be floored if it doesn't. Of course, our favorite religious group of assholes the republican partly could stop it too but fingers crossed!
Tesla Lowers FSD Monthly Subscription to $99/Month
April 12, 2024 by Brian Wang
https://www.nextbigfuture.com/2024/04/t ... month.html
Tesla has has officially lowered the monthly FSD subscription price to $99/month (from $199/month). This means it would be $1200 per year. If 50% adopt then that would be the $600 per car or an increase of 7.5% in profits.
This should massively increase adoption which increases the amount of data training and rate of improvement.
