What non-AI developments are you excited for?

Whether it's discussion of the latest chatGPT update, generative AI, multimodal AI, how soon we'll reach AGI, one has to admit that AI has really taken up all the oxygen in the room when it comes to talking about the future - and I get why. AI is the only technology making rapid, accelerated developments - everything else almost feels to be moving at a snail's pace in comparison. And AI, especially AGI, is what will make all these other technologies possible or feasible - I don't think we're going to get flying cars, for example, without AI being a huge part of what keeps them in the air, as humans are notoriously bad drivers and pilots. But even so, for as exciting as AI is and as important as it is for making everything else possible...it's really a LOT of the discussion, to the point everything else easily flies under the radar or seems forgotten about.

So this thread is for the near(ish) future of technology we're not talking about as much but is still exciting. What non-AI developments get you excited or captures your imagination? What are you looking for? Doesn't matter if it needs AI, just so long as we don't think of it specifically as AI - like AI is a huge component of getting BCIs working, but we still think of BCIs as a separate future item from AI anyways. From AR/VR to cyborg arms and longevity breakthroughs, this is the thread to hype up and discuss everything else. So, what non-AI developments are you excited for?

Also, I'm looking forward to improvements in VR/AR. These devices are still too bulky, expensive, and lacking that "killer" application to make them a worthwhile investment, but there's absolutely huge potential for them in the next 10-20 years.

And the declining cost of space travel is exciting. I'd love to experience the Moon's surface one day. To actually walk on another world... imagine it!

2. Solar energy becoming unstoppable taking over the energy needs of the world
3. Space-x reusable rockets and star ship! I'd like to see elon come out with the super star ship in the next 2-3 years that is twice the size of the star ship. The current star ship is ok for ground to orbit and maybe a space station like the international space station or the moon outpost idea. But isn't good enough for going to mars! Such needs to be big enough to move 3-4 people, all the infrastructure and any rover you want to bring down with you. You are going to need something huge to do this if this is how you wish to do.
4. A.i. IT is amazing what it can do with songs and different things. Could lead to much more capable robots that could take over much of production...I'd say that is 5.

I am not really happy about much to do with medical or anti-aging right now.
