Even when accounting for the Cass review, this does not negate the fact that the whole purpose of these "regulations" is to discriminate, not regulate

Federal judge blocks Biden administration move to expand Title IX protections for LGBTQ+ students
https://www.texastribune.org/2024/06/12 ... -students/
A Texas federal judge blocked the Biden administration's efforts to extend federal anti-discrimination protections to LGBTQ+ students.
In his ruling Tuesday, Judge Reed O'Connor said the Biden administration lacked the authority to make the changes and accused it of pushing “an agenda wholly divorced from the text, structure, and contemporary context of Title IX.” Title IX is the 1972 law that prohibits discrimination based on sex in educational settings.
“To allow [the Biden administration’s] unlawful action to stand would be to functionally rewrite Title IX in a way that shockingly transforms American education and usurps a major question from Congress,” wrote O’Connor, a President George W. Bush appointee. “That is not how our democratic system functions.”
The Biden administration’s new guidelines, issued in April, expanded Title IX to ban discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. The changes would make schools and universities responsible for investigating a wider range of discrimination complaints.

Re: LGBT+ News and Discussions
Ok about the Cass Review imma just note down some key things I read from the Wikipedia article and my thoughts on them:
*Puberty blockers: can't disagree much on the findings about that- there's insufficient data, though Cass herself has stated in an interview with BBC that she "spoken to young people who definitely do appear to have benefited." This aligns with my experience with IRL trans friends. The issue at hand, as mentioned in the interview, is the lack of data. Of course we all know double-blind studies are impossible, as with many other treatments for unrelated conditions. (BBC article in question https://www.bbc.com/news/health-68863594)
*Social transitioning: IDK, the case of David Riemer, a boy raised as a girl in an attempt to deal with a surgery mishap, is strong evidence against the idea that you can raise a non-intersex child differently. However, the review focused on intersex individuals, and Riemer was definitely not intersex. It's also worth noting though that trans people aren't intersex, so IDK how well this translates to trans people, but rearing certainly doesn't play a huge role, because aren't they, uhhh, trans? Like, they don't identify with their assigned gender?
*Treatment in general: We need more research; furthermore each teenager presenting with dysphoria needs individualized professional medical attention (which many in fucked parts of America are not getting). TLDR it's a case by case thing, and WE NEED MORE RESEARCH
In an ideal world, this would be a clearly medical issue, with qualified professionals sorting everything out and everyone just being as nice as possible to each other, like normal human beings ffs. The hateful people are the ones that have thrown so much sand in the gears, preventing us from actually moving forward on these subjects. And now people have trust issues when reviews like this come out because of all the hateful people that spew endless vitriol.
I'm still trying to wrap my head around all this, and I want to clarify that I don't have beef with trans people, trans youth, or anything of the like. Still learning here. Though one thing is clear: the transphobes can fucking pound sand. If you're using this review as a vehicle to erase trans people from society, then you can politely eat shit.

American College of Physicians Offers Recommendations to Support LGBTQ+ Health Care Equity
June 24, 2024
Introduction:
June 24, 2024
Introduction:
Read more here: https://www.eurekalert.org/news-releases/1048692(Eurekalert) Although progress has been made in addressing health disparities and reducing social inequality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and other sexual or gender minority (LGBTQ+) populations, new challenges have surfaced that harm the health and well-being of those populations, says the American College of Physicians (ACP). A new policy paper published today in Annals of Internal Medicine reaffirms and updates ACP’s policies on LGBTQ+ health.
The authors suggest that ACP is extremely concerned about discrimination against LGBTQ+ individuals. They say that health is a human right that entails an ethical obligation of society to provide access to health care, according to its resources and means, to its members. ACP says physicians and other health professionals should be aware of the complex social and health issues that uniquely and disproportionately affect LGBTQ+ populations.
Research and medical understanding of LGBTQ+ health issues have evolved since ACP’s last position paper on the topic. The updated policy paper offers recommendations about how to improve health care equity and reduce social stigma. It voices ACP’s support for access to evidence-based gender-affirming care, coverage for that care, and research into improving care for transgender and gender-diverse individuals. The recommendations also include incorporating LGBTQ+ health into medical education and support for programs to help recruit LGBTQ+ persons into the practice of medicine. The paper further recommends implementing public policies that protect the civil rights of LGBTQ+ peoples and uphold one’s ability to take part in all aspects of public life consistent with their gender identity, including access to governmental services, public facilities, and basic human facilities.
Don't mourn, organize.

I feel bad for eating the Review up, and I'm also afraid that in a few months or so someone's gonna come out with something again claiming that what I'm posting now is wrong or something. I'm honestly so tired
I just want to believe the right thing and behave in a way that's respects both trans people and the medical consensus without having to constantly worrying if I've unwittingly doing something wrong or something. so so tired

Re: LGBT+ News and Discussions
You mean American media, or American users on this forum? If it's the latter, I sure as hell ain't hopping over to the side of the extreme right or some shit. Screw these people; they make society worse for everybody.I wouldn't be surprised if this LGBT news discussion place eventually morphs into being quiet or just all anti-LGBT existence (at least from the American side of things).

I actually think that so as long as Joe Biden remains the candidate or hands the presidency to Harris and directs his delegates to support her at the DNC, then everything's gonna be fine. If he just drops out of the race and allows some sort of primary slapfight, we're doomed.
