It wouldn't surprise me if Biden refuses to step down. After liberal/democrat media pushed that view he didn't or chose not to take a hint. I think if he has been around without leaving for a while he won't be leaving via his own free will.

More senior Democrats privately say Biden should step aside

Several more senior members of President Joe Biden's Democratic party have privately joined calls for him to hand over his candidacy for November's election to another candidate, US media report.

During a group call with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, four congressmen were explicit in urging Mr Biden to step aside, according to outlets including the BBC's US partner CBS News.

The quartet were joined by others who voiced concerns about Mr Biden's fitness for office after a recent stumbling debate performance, but stopped short of asking for the president to clear the way, CBS added.

Mr Biden has vowed to fight on, and has retained the support of other Democrats who insist he is the man to beat Donald Trump in November's vote.

Scrutiny of Mr Biden's candidacy is expected to intensify on Monday with the return of lawmakers to Capitol Hill. The president will also be in the spotlight in the days ahead as he hosts a summit in Washington for leaders of Nato countries.

Read RNC panel-approved, Trump-centric platform

A Republican National Committee (RNC) panel on Monday passed a draft party platform dramatically shifting the GOP’s stance on abortion, mirroring former President Trump’s posture on the issue.

The Republican platform committee overwhelmingly approved the new platform, echoing Trump on key issues like trade, immigration and foreign policy while doing away with specific language about traditional marriage and enacting limits on abortion.

(Real Clear Politics) However, the post-debate poll from Bloomberg/Morning Consult showed that Biden might be doing better than other polls suggest in the swing states. Conducted from July 1 to July 5 with around 700 registered voters in each state, this poll found that President Biden leads in Wisconsin and Michigan by three and five points, respectively, in a head-to-head race. This represents a shift from the previous Bloomberg/Morning Consult poll conducted in May, where Biden was up by one point in Michigan, and Trump was up by one point in Wisconsin.
While this is the biggest lead Biden has had in a poll in Michigan this year, Trump led by seven points in Pennsylvania, his biggest lead in a Pennsylvania poll this year. In the previous Bloomberg poll, Trump only led by two points in Pennsylvania.

These are results for registered voters. One pundit I read not too long ago argued that polling results of likely voters have been higher for Biden. He argued that registered voters showing a preference for Biden are more likely to vote as compared to those indicating support for Trump.

America is for technological social experimentation and advancement; we'll likely never have a "labour" moment and certainly nothing like what happened in France. Mainly why I keep saying our future (in America) is unironically better off with Silicon Valley pulling the strings with advanced AI and D.C. lobbying. The free markets will keep American progress afloat simply because it's good business to do so.

I'd rather have a "clean" version of Blade Runner than Handmaid's Tale or the constant gaslighting gridlock of party politics, if it comes down to it.

Jon Stewart has some ideas for how to go about picking a new Democratic presidential candidate—and insists there’s plenty of time to find a replacement for President Joe Biden should voters choose to do so.

“Four months is for f*cking ever!” The Daily Show host said during his monologue Monday night, comparing America’s belabored democratic process with the rapid, weeks-long elections held in many European countries.

Stewart notably clarified that he was not directly calling for the president to step aside—but pleaded with the Democratic Party to at least try and create some outlet for voters disenchanted with his candidacy and the choices in this year’s election.

“Can’t we stress test this candidacy?” Stewart asked. “Can’t we open up the conversation? Do you understand the opportunity here? Do you have any idea how thirsty Americans are for any hint of inspiration or leadership, and a release from this choice between a megalomaniac and a suffocating gerontocracy?”
