Introduction:
(Al Jazeera) Iraq’s prime minister has said his country no longer requires American combat troops to fight ISIL (ISIS), but a formal timeframe for their redeployment will depend on the outcome of talks with US officials this week.

Georgia man pleading guilty to 4 of 8 Asian spa killings
Source: Miami Hearld
A Georgia man accused of killing eight people at three Atlanta-area massage businesses was pleading guilty in Cherokee County on Tuesday, hoping for a sentence of life without parole to the first four of the shooting deaths. Robert Aaron Long faces still faces the death penalty if convicted in four more shooting deaths in Atlanta, where he faces charges of domestic terrorism with a hate crime enhancement in addition to murder.

Long is white and six of the victims were women of Asian descent. Long walked through the massage business in Woodstock “shooting anyone and everyone he saw,” District Attorney Shannon Wallace said. But the prosecutor said he was motivated by a “sex addiction” and his desire to eliminate sources of his temptation, not by any hate against Asians or women.

“All of the evidence that was gathered with regard to Cherokee County, your honor, came to the same conclusion, that this crime was not motivated by a bias or hate against Asian Americans. As for gender bias, Wallace said a charge based on hatred of women would not have extended his sentence. “This was not any kind of hate crime,” she said. Wallace said they had planned to seek the death penalty if Long didn't plead guilty.

All the relatives of the victims that they've been able to contact are supporting the plea deal in the interests of swift justice, she added. The prosecutor said the 22-year-old defendant has signed a plea deal admitting to all of the charges in Cherokee County, where he was accused of malice murder, felony murder, attempt to commit murder and aggravated assault.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... Purge.html

A teenage woman was shot dead and a teenage man was injured at a California movie theater on Monday during a showing of the horror film The Forever Purge.

The woman, 18, and the man, 19, were attending inside a theater at the Regal Edwards Corona Crossings when gunshots rang out around 11.45pm, the Corona Police Department said in a news release.

Cops said that the woman died at the scene and the man was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Neither victim has been identified.

The Forever Purge, which is the fifth installment in the successful Purge franchise, follows a migrant couple and the wealthy ranchers they work for in a dystopian version of the United States in the year 2048 in which the government allows all crime for a 12-hour period - including murder.

I am willing to bet that the vast majority of all air bombings be it drone or piloted jet at 10k feet are bystanders. That is reality.

Woman who mistook car for her Uber stabbed up to 120 times, expert testifies
https://www.foxla.com/news/woman-who-go ... -testifies

July 28 2021

There were more than 100 stab wounds on a South Carolina university student killed by a man who attacked her after she mistakenly thought his car was her Uber ride, a pathologist testified Monday.

There was also so little blood left in 21-year-old Samantha Josephson's body — 20 milliliters (1.3 tablespoons) when a body typically has at least 4 liters (1 gallon) — that workers at her autopsy struggled to get enough blood for routine testing, said Dr. Thomas Beaver, who conducted the examination of the woman after her death.

The murder and kidnapping trial of Nathaniel Rowland entered its second week Monday as Beaver spent an hour methodically detailing the roughly 120 separate stab wounds on Josephson's body. He said he didn't have an exact number because there were so many.

"It gets to a point where it really doesn’t add much to the report," said Beaver, a pathologist at the Medical University of South Carolina.

From 2019
Mexico violence: Nine bodies found hanging from bridge
Mexican police have found the bodies of nine people hanging from a bridge and seven more corpses hacked up and dumped on the road.

The massacre in the city of Uruapan in the western Michoacán state is thought to be gang-related, prosecutors say.

A banner hanging from the bridge reportedly bore the initials of one of Mexico's most powerful drug cartels.

Criminals have previously hung the bodies of their murdered victims in public to intimidate rival gangs.

"There is a turf war between the [local] cells of different criminal groups," state prosecutor Adrián López told reporters at a news conference on Thursday.

Mr López said the gangs, which he did not name, are "fighting for territorial control over the production, distribution and consumption of drugs".

2011 San Fernando massacre
Utterly brutal, outrageously worse than ISIS

If you ever wonder why people are so desperate to get to the USA that they disregard borders, this is why.
"Fight back, take control!" is easy to say when you live comfortably without almost-literal orcs breathing down your neck every day (not that I agree with open borders).

Body of Reuters Photographer Was Mutilated in Taliban Custody, Officials Say
Source: nytimes

The body of Danish Siddiqui, a Pulitzer Prize winner killed in Afghanistan, was unrecognizable when it was brought to a Kandahar hospital, one official said.

By Mujib Mashal July 31, 2021, 4:14 a.m. ET

NEW DELHI — The body of Danish Siddiqui, a Pulitzer Prize-winning Reuters photojournalist who was killed in Afghanistan this month, was badly mutilated while in the custody of the Taliban, officials said this week.

The revelation comes amid concern that the fighting in Afghanistan, where the Taliban have carried out an aggressive military offensive since the United States withdrew nearly all its troops, has become increasingly brutal as peace talks have stalled.

Mr. Siddiqui, 38, an Indian national who took some of the most memorable news photographs from South Asia in recent years, was killed on the morning of July 16, when Afghan commandos he had accompanied to Spin Boldak, a border district recently captured by the Taliban, were ambushed. Initial photographs from the scene showed Mr. Siddiqui’s body with multiple wounds but fully intact.

But by that evening, when the body was handed over to the Red Cross and transferred to a hospital in the southern city of Kandahar, it had been badly mutilated, according to two Indian officials and two Afghan health officials there. The mutilation was reported by an Indian website, Newslaundry, in the days after Mr. Siddiqui’s killing.....................................
