Why do people say the GOP is really racist and sexist more so than Trump at times?
What do people mean the GOP is saying really racist and sexist comments lots of it.
And more racist and sexist than Trump at times.

People in red states feel Harris does not respond to the red states needs and values so they mask the raciam to get by or even mask sexism to get by.

politics is a very confusing, tiring and dividing topic
The more I try to learn about (U.S.) politics, the less certain I am about the things (and people). It overwhelms me. I find it impossible to learn the truth without really being there in person. Time is very valuable and I don't want to waste it on politics. I know I will regret it later if I do.
I feel certain that identity politics are not as important of a topic as some think.
What is the most important in my opinion:
- much better technology and medicine being available
- much stronger economy than in 2024
- safe and affordable food, water and transportation
- higher levels of overall equality between people than in 2024

Donald Trump will likely dial back some of the antitrust policies pursued under the administration of President Joe Biden, potentially including a bid to break up Alphabet's (GOOGL.O), opens new tab Google over its dominance in online search, experts said.
Trump is expected to continue cases against Big Tech, several of which began in his first term, but his recent skepticism about a potential Google breakup highlights the power he will hold over how those cases are run.

Tbf a breakup wasn't really the best way to go about this. The govt was just throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks. I'm a little surprised he doesn't want a breakup though, given that he'd either want to stamp out liberal tech corps or harness their power for state use.

Donald Trump called on Republican Senators vying for the majority leader position to permit him to appoint temporary cabinet members without Senate approval through recess appointments and demanded they reject any judicial nominations until he takes office.
Complaining that Senate approval takes too long, Trump said anyone seeking the leadership position “must agree to Recess Appointments (in the Senate!)” on Truth Social on Sunday, a tactic that would effectively allow him to place any person in his cabinet without formal Senate approval.
“Sometimes the votes can take two years, or more. This is what they did four years ago, and we cannot let it happen again. We need positions filled IMMEDIATELY!” Trump wrote.
Hours after Trump’s statement, three Senators running for the leadership position endorsed Trump’s idea.

Trump advisers contemplating cuts to Medicaid and other welfare programs
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/202 ... ps-welfare
Donald Trump’s economic advisers and congressional Republicans are discussing possible cuts to Medicaid, food stamps and other government welfare programmes to cover the costs of extending the president-elect’s multitrillion-dollar 2017 tax cut.
The cuts could mean new work requirements and spending caps, according to the Washington Post, citing sources involved in the talks, including aides in Trump’s transition team.
Extending the tax cuts – most of which are due to expire next year – could add $4tn to the national debt, which already stands at $36tn.
But Republicans fear triggering a political backlash by slashing programmes that serve an estimated 70 million Americans to pay for a tax cut that disproportionately benefits the wealthy.

Canada is already examining tariffs on certain US items following Trump’s tariff threat

TORONTO (AP) — Canada is already examining possible retaliatory tariffs on certain items from the United States should President-elect Donald Trump follow through on his threat to impose sweeping tariffs on Canadian products, a senior official said Wednesday.
Trump has threatened to impose tariffs on products from Canada and Mexico if the countries don’t stop what he called the flow of drugs and migrants across southern and northern borders. He said he would impose a 25% tax on all products entering the U.S. from Canada and Mexico as one of his first executive orders.
When Trump imposed higher tariffs during his first term in office, other countries responded with retaliatory tariffs of their own. Canada, for instance, announced billions of new duties in 2018 against the U.S. in a tit-for-tat response to new taxes on Canadian steel and aluminum.
Many of the U.S. products were chosen for their political rather than economic impact. For example, Canada imports $3 million worth of yogurt from the U.S. annually and most comes from one plant in Wisconsin, home state of then-House Speaker Paul Ryan. That product was hit with a 10% duty.
Another product on the list was whiskey, which comes from Tennessee and Kentucky, the latter of which is the home state of then-Republican Senate leader Mitch McConnell.
