Re: SpaceX
I'd like to see different sizes for economic purposes.
1. Smallest for orbit purposes. Could be the current size.
2. Moon size..Once this is made possible there's no fucking reason why elon shouldn't just say go for the moon.
3. mars and further size...Could possibly be big enough to carry 4-5 people, landing vehicle, etc. Possibly 2-3 times the size. Honestly, I wish Elon would work with nasa to develop the upper stage into a fusion or fission rocket engine. This would greatly reduce the size.

FAA Approves Starship Flights Every Two Weeks in 2025
November 21, 2024 by Brian Wang
https://www.nextbigfuture.com/2024/11/f ... -2025.htmlThe FAA has indicated that it will grant SpaceX permission have 25 Starship launches in South Texas in 2025 versus the current limit of five launches. SpaceX will be allowed to continue increasing the size and power of the Super Heavy booster stage and Starship upper stage.
The approvals for SpaceX and Tesla seem to be going much better now that there is a new president elect versus the Biden administration.
The Revised Draft EA analyzes:
Up to 25 annual Starship/Super Heavy orbital launches, including:
Up to 25 annual landings of Starship (Second stage)
Up to 25 annual landings of Super Heavy (First stage)
How much more powerful would it need to be to get to the moon with a landing vehicle and a few people?

SpaceX aims for 3 rocket launches, 1 Dragon landing in 20 hours

In a span of about 20 hours, SpaceX could manage three rocket launches and one landing of a Dragon spacecraft.
It flew a Department of Defense mission from Cape Canaveral on Monday night and on Tuesday knocked out a National Reconnaissance Office mission from California and the landing of the latest cargo Dragon spacecraft off the coast of Florida.
The topper will be a launch from Kennedy Space Center that would mark 90 spaceflight missions among all providers on the Space Coast in 2024.
That launch would see a Falcon 9 on the mPower-E mission launching from KSC's Launch Pad 39-A during a one-hour, 27-minute window that opens at 3:59 p.m. EST with backup during the same window on Dec. 18. The payload is a pair of satellites for Luxembourg-based communications company SES headed to medium-Earth orbit.
With one hour before the opening of the window, the countdown was paused for weather, and a new T-0 is pending.

In a span of less than 22 hours, SpaceX managed three Falcon 9 rocket launches and one landing of a Dragon spacecraft.
It flew a Department of Defense mission from Cape Canaveral on Monday night and on Tuesday knocked out a National Reconnaissance Office mission from California, the landing of the latest cargo Dragon spacecraft off the coast of Florida and the final topper of a busy day with a launch from Kennedy Space Center.
The final launch saw a Falcon 9 on the mPower-E mission lifting off from KSC's Launch Pad 39-A at 5:26 p.m. EST with a payload of a pair of satellites for Luxembourg-based communications company SES headed to medium-Earth orbit.
This was the first launch of the first-stage booster, which made a recovery landing downrange on the droneship Just Read the Instructions, in the Atlantic.
It marked the 90th launch from all providers among Space Coast pads for 2024, with SpaceX responsible for all but five of them.

Next Week Upgraded SpaceX Starship Will Deploy 10 V3 Starlink Satellite Simulators
January 3, 2025 by Brian Wang
January 3, 2025 by Brian Wang
https://www.nextbigfuture.com/2025/01/n ... ators.htmlJan 10, 2025, SpaceX Starship will have the seventh laucnh and deploy 10 Starlink simulators. They will be similar in size and weight to next-generation (V3) Starlink satellites as the first exercise of a satellite deploy mission. The Starlink simulators will be on the same suborbital trajectory as Starship, with splashdown targeted in the Indian Ocean. A relight of a single Raptor engine while in space is also planned.
