This mass drone attack by Ukraine against Russia is a seminal moment in military history, and those who fail to appreciate its significance will pay. America is particularly vulnerable to the same thing given how easy it is to smuggle people and equipment across our borders and to move around inside of the country. The opening salvos of a war with China might include teams of their deep cover agents unleashing a devastating drone attack against our assets on the homefront.

I'm reminded of the Japanese sneak attack on the Russian naval base at Port Arthur in 1905. The U.S. assumed such a fate could not befall its own bases, which turned out badly wrong when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941.

Ukraine-Russia war latest: Crimean bridge blown up in massive explosion, say Kyiv’s special forces

A bridge linking Russia and Crimea has been blown up in a massive explosion carried out by Ukraine’s special forces.

The 12-mile-long Crimean Bridge, or Kerch Bridge, links Russia with the occupied peninsula which Russian troops annexed in 2014.

Footage showed an underwater explosion destroying a pillar of the bridge as Ukraine’s SBU vowed there was “no place for any illegal Russian facilities on the territory of our state”.

The SBU said it rigged the bridge’s pillars with 1,100kg of explosives. “The Crimean Bridge is an absolutely legitimate target, especially considering that the enemy used it as a logistical artery to supply its troops,” it said.

It comes after Moscow told Ukraine that it would only agree to end the war if Kyiv gives up big chunks of territory and accepts limits on the size of its army, according to a memorandum.

Trump administration redirects 20,000 anti-drone missiles meant for Ukraine, Zelensky confirms

President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that U.S. President Donald Trump's administration diverted 20,000 anti-drone missiles originally intended for Ukraine to American forces in the Middle East, in an interview with ABC News published on June 8.

Zelensky said Ukraine had counted on the missiles to help counter relentless Russian drone attacks, which include swarms of Iranian-designed Shahed-type drones. On June 1, Russia launched a record 472 drones in a single night.

Zelensky said the plan had been agreed upon with then-U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and was launched under President Joe Biden's administration.

The Wall Street Journal reported on June 4 that the Trump administration had redirected the munitions, which include special fuzes used in advanced rocket systems to intercept drones, toward U.S. forces stationed in the Middle East.
