China's humanoid robots generate more soccer excitement than their human counterparts
https://techxplore.com/news/2025-06-chi ... occer.html
While China's men's soccer team hasn't generated much excitement in recent years, humanoid robot teams have won over fans in Beijing based more on the AI technology involved than any athletic prowess shown.

Four teams of humanoid robots faced off in fully autonomous 3-on-3 soccer matches powered entirely by artificial intelligence on Saturday night in China's capital in what was touted as a first in China and a preview for the upcoming World Humanoid Robot Games, set to take place in Beijing.

According to the organizers, a key aspect of the match was that all the participating robots operated fully autonomously using AI-driven strategies without any human intervention or supervision.

Equipped with advanced visual sensors, the robots were able to identify the ball and navigate the field with agility.

They were also designed to stand up on their own after falling. However, during the match several still had to be carried off the field on stretchers by staff, adding to the realism of the experience.

Assuming the leaked benchmark on HLE (35-45%) is accurate, it would be beyond all currently released models. Problem here of course is transparency regarding XAI and the training data being skewed towards extremism like Grok 3 currently is.

IDK, I consider this guy to be marginally reliable; Jimmy has reposted him before.

Oh well. I guess we just have to hope that Google drops 2.5 Pro Deep Think soon

Incredible.

To know is essentially the same as not knowing. The only thing that occurs is the rearrangement of atoms in your brain.

Copilot Vision Update Lets Users Receive Real-Time AI Desktop Assistance
It's similar to Gemini Live on Androids.
By Devesh Beri July 18, 2025

Microsoft is testing an update to the Copilot Vision app that allows you to share an entire desktop (or a specific app) with the AI assistant. The feature gives Copilot the ability to "see" what you see and interact with you in real time.

The update, which hit Windows Insider channels this week, theoretically means Copilot should be able to dish out instructions, help you improve creative projects, refine your resume, or even navigate games. It's similar to Gemini Live on Androids, which allows you to share your screen—and even your camera view—with Gemini so you can chat with it about your surroundings in real-time.

Scalable transformer accelerator enables on-device execution of large language models
https://techxplore.com/news/2025-07-sca ... guage.html
by Sejong University
Large language models (LLMs) like BERT and GPT are driving major advances in artificial intelligence, but their size and complexity typically require powerful servers and cloud infrastructure. Running these models directly on devices—without relying on external computation—has remained a difficult technical challenge.

A research team at Sejong University has developed a new hardware solution that may help change that. The work is published in the journal Electronics.

Their Scalable Transformer Accelerator Unit (STAU) is designed to execute various transformer-based language models efficiently on embedded systems. It adapts dynamically to different input sizes and model structures, making it especially well-suited for real-time on-device AI.
