"lol. in the US it’s hands free mode, in Europe it’s hands-ready mode"
I love the discrepancy, and the fact that the fanboys use the opportunity to claim Europe is cucked by downplaying the technology when

> Tesla FSD is level 2, Tesla has never claimed it's anything other than level 2, and we don't have the technology to go beyond level 2 on commercial-ready cars
> level 2 autonomy is indeed "hands-ready" mode, it is extraordinarily dangerous to take your hands off the wheel in any AV that isn't levels 4 or 5 (or a very high end level 3+ in good conditions)
> this actually reflects poorly on America, suggesting we get fed bullshit, but American exceptionalism makes us think it's the greatest cow sweetbread ever made
And remember my friend, future events such as these will affect you in the future

I really want to ride in one of these.
Actually, going back a full decade now, my dream is riding in an AV into a thunderstorm on a nice summer evening ̶w̶i̶t̶h̶ ̶m̶y̶ ̶g̶y̶n̶o̶i̶d̶ ̶w̶i̶f̶e̶

Autolane is building ‘air traffic control’ for autonomous vehicles
Sean O'Kane

https://techcrunch.com/2025/12/03/autol ... -vehicles/
The rapid succession of robotaxi deployments from companies like Waymo and Zoox have people in the industry, once again, dreaming about how autonomous vehicles might change our daily lives. That includes driverless taxi rides, sure, but also headier ideas like sending an autonomous vehicle to fetch groceries or pick up dry cleaning.

If those things are ultimately going to happen, navigating the handoff moments — like where exactly a vehicle should stop to receive the groceries — will be a crucial piece of the puzzle. Palo Alto-based Autolane is trying to build that layer of infrastructure, and it now has $7.4 million in fresh funding to take on that goal.

Backed by VC firms like Draper Associates and Hyperplane, Autolane said it will start by coordinating pickup and drop-off points for companies that want to let robotaxis come onto their private property. The startup has signed a deal with Simon Property Group to coordinate driverless vehicle arrivals and departures at shopping centers owned by the real estate company in Austin, Texas and San Francisco, California.

I predict within the next 6 months telsa fsd will be upgrade to at least class 3. I feel its ability is the best on the market. Probably better then waymore. This is why Elon is telling people to text and to f*ck around as this is coming very soon. The taxi could even go class 4.

I've watched hours of youtube videos of people filming these cars traveling across cities and even states. All weather. It is impressive.

I believe it isn't perfect but it is close to being deserving of an increase in class.

Investor letter reveals skyrocketing growth of Waymo’s robotaxi rides
Six months ago, Waymo disclosed it was providing 250,000 robotaxi rides a week across its service areas, an ever-growing list that includes Atlanta, Austin, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and the San Francisco Bay Area.

The Alphabet-owned self-driving company has been coy ever since, simply stating it is providing many hundreds of thousands of weekly rides. Now, we have a firmer grasp on those weekly ride numbers, thanks to a leaked letter from Tiger Global Management to it investors that was first reported by CNBC.

The letter was an appeal for investment into Tiger Global’s next venture capital fund and called out the gains, so far, of its current fund. Those gains rested largely on its investments in hot companies like OpenAI, Databricks, and Waymo. In the letter, Tiger disclosed that Waymo is now providing 450,000 robotaxi rides per week — nearly double the amount it disclosed this spring.
