We might be heading towards a dark age. No one can take responsibility for their own actions. It isn't the government job to limit and to do this. It will greatly limit advancement and personal freedom.

You do realize companies are responsible for doing their best to keep their algorithms safe, right?

Meta ordered to pay $375m after being found liable in child exploitation case

I'm less gung-ho about this one. While there are legitimate complaints about Meta's moderation strategies, trying to fight encrypted messaging doesn't sit right with me.

New Social App Lets You Choose Exactly What Appears on Your Feed
Bluesky leaders say Attie is an early step toward letting people "vibe‑code" their own social feeds.
By Devesh Beri March 31, 2026

The team behind Bluesky has released a new app that uses AI to help users create custom social media feeds through simple prompts. Called Attie, the app runs on the same AT Protocol as Bluesky and uses Anthropic's Claude model as its core AI engine, which helps turn plain language into tailored timelines. Bluesky positions Attie as an AI agent that lets people describe what they want to see on social platforms, rather than relying on fixed, opaque algorithms.

Attie works like a chatbot. Users log in with their Bluesky or other AT Protocol credentials, then tell Attie what their feed should look like. They can ask for posts on very specific topics, define tone and style, and even specify what they don't want to see, TechCrunch reports. The app uses these prompts to build an introductory feed, which it refines based on ongoing interaction and feedback.

For now, custom feeds live inside the Attie app, but Bluesky says they can later work across other AT Protocol apps.

What's next? A ban on transgenderism from the left because it is sexislization of the children? Goddamn I miss the 90's and early 2000's when I was 12-15. I got into storm communities and watching science at the time...This kind of thing will take away so much from our children. Sure, there is risk but there is also great reward. Imagine a 12 year old joining futuretimeline? Imagine if such interactions led to them becoming a scientist? Or someone that designs space ships one day??? I am opposed to limiting our children from such. Sure, limit them from porn and adult places but we need to be sensible. Not all of social media is dangerous or a place they should be limited from.

We should breed in them passion for greatness in this life. You can't do that by shielding them from such places as futuretimeline and such places that breed such. Maybe we could create a child friendly portion of social media? A.i could limit where they could go and could breed that passion that is safe. Social media a.i could ask your age and dictate what you can do and how you interact.

UK has entered the chat (to be clear, Labour doesn't actually believe in the LGBTQ grooming conspiracy theory; they just fell for the bullshit Cass "review". Not that Labour should be considered left anymore by sane people standards. The Greens meanwhile support trans people, which is based.)

(The Liberal Party of Canada is not transphobic.)

FT is def one of the more chill sites IMO; the rest of social media could be characterized as a hellscape, not to mention the constant privacy invasions of users. It is for this reason that current regulations prohibiting data collection from anyone under 13 are sensible.

No one is going to create a social media site for children; it would not be profitable and would likely be unethical (given the tech world's poor track record with that kind of thing).
