I think the trope of calling anyone disagreeable a Nazi is a bit worn out, don’t you? Yeah, sure enough, he supports the war. But until about ten years ago, plenty of Westerners supported the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan. Should they also have been banned from Internet forums of the time? I also recall plenty of bloodthirstiness over on the old forum coming from many a respectable liberal when it came to other people and events, like the Capitol Riot or lockdown sceptics.Maximus wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 11:32 pmI mean at this point, allowing such a contribution is like giving importance and a voice to a Nazi in 1939. He supports this invasion and war. He believes Ukrainians deserve to die over some historical butthurt. On the old forum he put it in no uncertain terms (and I trust you all remember this clearly) how much he was looking forward to Russia nuking Eastern European countries. He's an ultranationalist, and that's the perspective you're getting. It's not exactly hard to predict what he's gonna say. Would hearing a Nazi in 1939 tell you how much he hates Jews really be that educational? Well, it's not up to me, but that's what I make of it.
No, it’s not hard to predict what he’ll say, but then neither is it hard to predict what most long-time members of this forum will say about any given topic (I’m sure myself included). Surely it doesn’t have to be all that educational to avoid being banned - especially if it’s so predictable and familiar. You might disagree vehemently with everything he says, but ask yourself, what harm is he really doing by posting his views on a forum? And I don’t mean that generally, as in what harm can anyone do - I mean Phoenix specifically, and this forum specifically.
