"Chasing Ice" movie reveals largest iceberg break-up ever filmed

12th December 2012

"Chasing Ice" is a documentary by award-winning director Jeff Orlowski. It follows National Geographic photographer James Balog across the Arctic, showing how glaciers are melting due to climate change.

In this short clip, the filmakers witness 7.4 cubic km of ice crashing off the Ilulissat glacier in Greenland. This is enough water to fill almost 3 million Olympic swimming pools and would cover the entire United States to a depth of 3 inches.

The movie has already gained widespread acclaim. One climate change skeptic had her mind changed in this related clip. For more information, visit www.chasingice.com.
