9th February 2013 The coming flood: Explore the future's rising seas A new map of future sea level rise has been made available at the online version of New Scientist magazine. This shows regional variations based on two carbon emission scenarios (high and low), using methods devised by the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research in Germany. These estimates – which are among the most detailed and comprehensive to date – have been updated to account for new contributions from melting Greenland and Antarctic ice.
