Omni virtual reality interface is launched on Kickstarter

Virtuix has launched a Kickstarter campaign for the "Omni" – the first virtual reality interface for moving freely and naturally within a video game environment. After just three days, the company has already smashed its goal of raising $150,000 to fund the project.

Intended for use in conjunction with the Oculus Rift and other future head-mounted displays, the Omni will offer a whole new level of realism and interaction for players. As seen in the video below, it could also serve as a treadmill, providing a form of exercise in addition to gaming.

We predict that virtual reality will be really big later this decade and the Omni may well become one of the most popular hardware choices. For more information – including the full set of incentives, accessories and configurations – visit the Omni's page on Kickstarter.
